Legacy -The 2023 Deer Season-

We lost three of our four shooters one year to vehicles, and the fourth was found weeks dead near somebody's stand at the start of MZ.

This guy was on 390 at Latta this morning.

I heard of a buck killed this morning!! My shrink wrap guys saw it !!! BUMMER

Got into my fist set today at 230. Looking forward to my first sit of the year.

I am shocked at the amount of rubs and scrapes I am seeing already.

Yeah, rubs and scrapes opening up everywhere. We have some cut stump bushes where nearly every overhang is torn up. Mostly little guys, but we've also started to get pictures of a couple shooters this week. Too bad I've got no desire to sit in 80 degree weather. It's tough to envision even taking a doe this week for smoked bacon burgers. Just the bugs on the meat while processing would gross me out.

amazing how often mother nature messing with us. We will never figure it out and thats why its fun.

Update from Ohio...

 

Unfortunately one of my targets showed up to the set about 15 minutes after dark yesterday.

 

One deer shot, killed , and recovered last night.

 

One other deer shot but not recovered. Backed out until this morning due to diminishing blood trail.

Ohio update...

Zero from me today but 4 deer arrowed from guys at camp. 2 recovered. The other two they backed out and the search will continue on the morning.
