This is maybe the silliest thread I’ve ever seen. Complaining to close a launch knowing full well in the next few years it’s being redone is SOOO stupid. Congrats on forcing your fellow sportsmen to different launches. Absolutely absurd.

The DEC and Town of Hamlin should be  ashamed of   themselves for allowing this to go on so long . 

 

The town of Hamlin or Hamlin beach couldn't send a  capable crew with some materials or dock sections or platforms of some sort to do a safe temp fix ? Maybe the people in charge shouldn't be the people in charge if they can't solve a problem as simple as this .

It’s the nature of the beast. Lake O has fluctuations of water level. We should be used to it  at least the ones who have fished this lake for many years. I’ve waded through ankle deep water at Mexico Pt many times and at Henderson I’ve had the boat actually floating on the dock.  I guess what I’m trying to say is  ADAPT

It's all about liability it only takes one lawsuit could cost the state Millions I don't think adapt will work in a court of law Maybe I doubt it . It's called CYA . the state covering their a$$

DEC Region 8 Reopens Sandy Creek Boat Launch in Monroe County North Section Open After Temporary Repair to Address High Water Impacts; South Section Remains Closed The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced a temporary repair to the Sandy Creek Boat Launch, Town of Hamlin, Lake Ontario, Monroe County, that will give outdoor enthusiasts access to the water. The popular boat access site was closed in mid-July due to a high lake water level. An inspection revealed significant submersion of the docks, necessitating the boat launch closure for public safety. This morning the north section of the boat launch reopened to the public. The south section remains closed and DEC is working on a permanent repair.
