Hi all,

I have 2 Trail cameras that take photos but the "shutter speed" (i don't know the correct term) is so slow that unless the deer is in front of the camera for about 5-6 seconds, it doesn't take a photo. I know this because i have walked passed it numerous times without it taking a photo of me. If I spend 5 or more seconds in front of it, it takes a photo.

Can you guys recommend a good trail cam for a guy on a budget?

thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving,

andre

I bought 3 Tasco trail cams from Walmart back in August.  I believe they were $29.88 each.  The Tasco cams are way better than the 2 Stealth cams I have that I paid $60 for.

Wild game innovations informant. It’s usually 50 bucks, but you can find them on sale for cheaper sometimes.

I had the same question and ended upI’ve used a few trail cams over the years, but recently I started messing around with compact action cams for scouting, and some of those actually hold up decent with motion sensors and low-light. This list https://www.insta360.com/blog/tips/best-travel-cameras.html has a few good ones that surprised me with how adaptable they can be, especially if you don’t need all the hardcore wildlife-specific features all the time. using a cheap Android phone with my SIM card just to set it up, then swapped the card back once everything was working.
