  1. Today
  2. The news seems a bit scarce this year, indeed.
  3. That was the story Sunday, but VERY few takers.....ask the 20 boats working that area Sunday afternoon.....
  4. I believe it on the temp swings... which gives me a good kick in the ass to replace my transducer so I have temperature readings again. Fish Hawk also on the list, but not in the finances currently. I did mark some bait but not a lot and yeah it was in the top 20-30 fow like you saw. I'll add that the majority of the fish I caught were also on my weighted steel rod. Might be time for me to rig up another one of those. See you at Seneca!
  5. Nice work and thanks for the great report!
  6. There are a lot of fish out there between 100 and 200. There is also a ton of bait.

  8. Good job. Our customer, was bummed you guys knocked him out of the lead with that fish! But he still finished with a 1st place for the juvenile! Great weekend of catching! We grabbed that 3rd place laker at about 5 pm Sunday, should of went straight to the scales, live and learn. See ya next year! Congrats to all!
  9. Well done Anthony!!!!! Brad
  10. Thats awesome. Nice to hear about any fish let alone a 30 So you’re saying there is a chance.
  11. Thanks man! Hope to see you in a few weeks at the Monroe County offshore!
  12. Thanks @Bo Hunter I hope it sticks! The SUP rigs are great when you have a small crew and only running 6 rods! I also prefer Greg’s @troubles clip on fixed cheater snaps over rubber bands!
  13. Thank Mike! I think there was some big water temperature swings around the lake due to the rain and trib runoff that put the fish in different spots around the lake. we marked 56 degrees in the northern east end where we caught the brown and big laker and on the west end directly across by a stream we marked 64. did you mark any bait? We only marked some above 20ft but not much. good work Sunday see you in a few weeks!
  14. Congrats Anthony and team!

  16. Great report Anthony. Glad to hear one of my painted spoons might win lunker of the year for the FLTA. I've got 6 more tournaments to try and top. Some of the readers who watched your video may ask what a SUP rig is. Captain Richard Hajecki may have coined the name MUP rig. Which stands for Mag Spoon Up with a Standard size 10' below on a downrigger. Since you and I have been trying it on the finger lakes with smaller fish, we've settled on a Standard size spoon 3 3/4" or 3 7/8" up, with a smaller 3 1/4" spoon below (hence SUP rig). Both spoons have to be painted the same or at least very close. The smaller spoon is clipped to the downrigger release on the bottom 10' out. Then 8' to 10' above a 10' leader with the larger standard spoon is stuck on your rod line along with a rubber band or clipped (fixed cheater) or to keep it in place. If a fish hits the upper spoon, the rubber band or clip will release and slide to the first swivel of the lower spoon. Works a lot like the old Seth Green rig with 2 spoons. Of course there are many variations that may work. Try it out.
  17. You guys rocked it! Beautiful job. Really nice of you to share these details. I started on the south end, west side and worked 30-60 fow from 5am-6:45am. Didn't move a rod in there. Wanted to stay shallow but made a decision then to try a turn out deep. As soon as I got to 130+ fow I started getting hit after hit, mostly 6-7 pound lakers, all feisty. Lost one 8-9 pounder next to the boat after a hairy battle crossing lines a had one small bow on briefly out there on a free slider Elmer Hinckley gold hammered 35 came unbuttoned. Ended up staying out deep which probably prevented me from finding a brown but action was firing so I stayed put until the last hour tried shallow on the east side a couple miles from the south launch, didn't find anything there. Great report man, following instincts and solid strategies.
