Long weekend at wilson. Didn’t do as well as some but did well enough to take plenty of fillets home. When your buddies think you are crazy when you tell them you were releasing up to 10lbs kings then they go out with you the next day and do the same they realize it is crazy! Saturday first it was a 200 steel that took the shots then a couple rigger hits then a dipsy kept getting clobbered then it was all riggers. 100-140 fow. Spoon preference change every hour. What took fish at 8am just dragging in the water at 9. Sometime we could t get back rigged up before another rod popped! sunday it was all riggers for us no steel or dipsy hits! Again spoons changed each hr with each flurry of hits largest king was 18lbs smallest fish was below!!! Caught after watching my rods bounce as the lines pulled thru the bait! call out to Tacklemaster Matt for sharing on the water!

My brother and I headed out to 250ft, 46 degree surface temps. Started Trolling north and eventually turned and trolled back to the Genny. Best water was 150 ft 50–60 down. Best spoon was the DW yellow Leopard D. we lost three. Got 5 or 6 shakers. And landed three mature kings. The biggest was over 23lbs and took a run on the wire dipsey for the ages. It’s was awesome. Special thanks to Bill for this trip. You’re the man.

Good 8 days of fishing! The brown trout were a little tough. Some days good some could've been better. The water was pretty clear most of the time. Our best picks were up around 9 mile point. Chris in our group caught the best 2 of 7 1/2 and 8 lbs. Even mix of spoons and stick baits. Black and silver, green and silver and spoons with dots in those colors. The end of the week really slowed down to just a few cookie cutters here and there. I did move out a little on day and got a nice 6 1/2 pound Steelhead and a little further out the wife got an all but 12 pound laker. The last day Saturday we cruised the shoreline for a couple hours picked up another cookie cutter and decided to head out for deep water. It was a bit rough at first but it was worth it. From about 100 to 160 fow the kings were there and hungry. Went 4 for 7 hitting them down between 50 to 70 ft. Nothing big, the biggest one was a little over 10 pounds. Bunch of other boats in the area seemed to be catching too. Sure was fun to end the trip fighting some kings. All in all it was a great trip! Back up in a couple weeks.

Got up to the big lake for some Gold action. Water temp on the shore was a bit warm due to the mild winter and I was hoping we could find some pods of eyes and browns. As any trip, things start out in search mode until the electronics show what hope to be promising marks. We were met with a nice brown before dark and then hit a pod of eyes that put 3 in the box quick. Other 3 took a bit longer but was able to have time to catch up with a great friend. Shared a lot of laughs and ended the night in double digits with some nice eater browns. Next night my son and his buddy came up. Typical Friday boat pressure on shore, decided to leave and find some fishing elsewhere. Motored to a spot that produced in the past and it didn't disappoint. Rods started to fire and we had another exciting night on eyes with one quality brown. Speeds varied to get reaction strikes and colors didn't matter, everything got hit. Got to troll to find them and we you do, don't leave them. Our bite turned off and on and made the night interesting. Love this time of year. Tight lines.

A pic would tell 1000 words. Losing bottom at higher speeds is not uncommon, especially if your transducer is on the transom. Sometimes an easy fix, sometimes not.

Rigger down the chute if you can. Dipsys set on the sides at different rates of dive. Deepest dipsy closest to the boat. -
