  3. Lake Ontario salmon and trout action has been a little spotty of late and some of it can be blamed on the weather. With Tropical Depression Barry showing up this week, the hottest weather of the season is on our doorstep through the weekend. One sleeper area could be the Niagara Bar as mature kings have been reported this week. Capt. Frank Campbell of Lewiston had some customers looking for some salmon slammin’ and they were rewarded with some mature kings in 100 to 200 feet of water, pulling magnum spoons in greens and white glow spin doctors with green flies behind dipsy divers 30 to 50 feet down. Off Wilson, fishing has actually been pretty good, but information was tough to come by with the Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association events taking place Friday and Saturday this week. Some bigger fish are available. Robyn Wolf of Wilson came close to the top prize with a 27 pound, 15 ounce king that is currently in second place in the Salmon Division. She was fishing out of her home port with Capt. Mike Johannes of On the Rocks and caught the fish on a magnum spoon. Darker colors have been working. Capt. Tim Sylvester of Tough Duty was fishing out of Olcott on Monday and hit a 28-plus pound king on a 400 copper line with meat. However, the person that caught the fish was not in the LOC Derby currently going on. He was fishing in 300-plus feet of water. Karen Evarts at The Boat Doctors in Olcott says try fishing a little east of Olcott in 400 to 450 feet of water or a little west off the red barn in 315-375 feet of water. The new Grand Prize leader is 29 pounds, 6 ounces. The derby ends on July 28. Click here to see the rest of this report on ILoveNYFishing.com.

  10. The USACE permit wouldn't be that big of a deal between the DEC and USACE and that's not how mitigation works. I'd argue minimal wetland impacts would accrue due to a new delineation taking into account a higher ordinary water mark incorporating the cattail coverage. The show stopper is $$.

    Sea nymph help

Electrolysis usually occurs in fresh water by a boat being moored in a marina with some electric current entering the water. I know of another Sea Nymph which had batteries mounted up front for an electric motor and had corrosion in the helm area because battery acid had leaked over time.

  15. OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow has announced that Wright’s Landing Marina will reopen on Thursday, July 18th. The marina had been closed due to flooding from high water levels on Lake Ontario. In the last few weeks, the water levels have dropped, allowing the city to clean up the marina and boat launch. “As promised, I am re-opening the Wright’s Landing Marina now that the water level has slightly dropped in the Oswego Harbor. The Oswego Department of Public Works has re-built new walkways and ramps to allow for safe access to our docks and boat slips despite the high water levels due to Plan 2014,” said Mayor Billy Barlow. “I’d like to thank the Oswego DPW for their constant hard work and creativity as we’ve built around and over the high water and flooding. I also appreciate the patience and understanding from the Charters, recreational boaters and tenants of Wright’s Landing Marina, realizing this situation was due directly to Plan 2014 and out of the City’s control. We will continue to work around the issues caused by the flooding and high water to keep the marina open and will work to more permanent solutions for the remainder of this season and beyond

  17. IF it is DEC doing the project, the Article 15 and 24 would be a formality. Lots of mitigation around look at all the wetlands recently created in Braddock's.
  18. Wanting to buy a raymarine sport pilot, or any autopilot that will work on a cable steer merc inboard/outboard. Thanks
  19. This reel is the Daiwa 47lc spooled with 1000' of stainless line. I believe it is 20 lb. test. I upgraded the drag with Smooooth Drags and they work much better than the original components. The reel has the normal wear from some days on the big lake, but it works well. $55. TYD. OBO. Dave: 215-527-3552
  20. Thanks guys. Tournament this weekend so we’ll have reports coming....... it’s been a grind lately but if you stick it out the class of fish has been great. Side note, cheaters in warm water were on fire taking multiple majors. I have a bad habit of fishing cold 🥶 water , simply under a lot of fish. Had a friend through conversation talking about what he prefers for cheaters and bammmmm big boys on. Sometimes it’s the little things in conversations that are most important. Always keep your ears peeled and mix it your usual Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. after thought about ramp. Since this in the wetland you would need a wetlands permit due to the filling. probably the biggest obstacle in this project
  22. Hammerhead and gambler rigs 1.3-1.5 are for lakers, everything else is just random fishing tackle people use for lakers[emoji6]. They were stacked like facecord in 90-120 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I use to manage this site and other region 8 launches when I worked for the state. The only solution is to revamp the launching area, ramp and docks. T he turn around area would have to be raised a foot or more to prevent its flooding. With the extreme diiference in water levels. The ramp needs to be extended to meet the new turn around area without changing the slope of the ramp (13 1/2% to 15 1/2% slope). Or replaced entirely. the docks would be the same, revamped or replaced. they need to be removed in the winter due to the massive ice flow in the spring. talking lots of bucks.
