    An 8 weight fly rod is good enough. Streamers in white, brown, olive and purple will take fish. Egg patterns like Glow bugs, estez flies in orange or oregon cheese will also take fish.

    I have found frays in mine but I think it is from pliers. As for the hooks, I use the Owner 2x trebels and have not had a problem yet.

    FX, I caught Tom looking through my lake trout rigs. Later that day, I heard him placing an order over the phone for some laker rigs!

    NO need to attach it to cable. Main line works just fine.

    I know what you mean Tom. I was just kidding. Not on Lake O but Seneca has some die hard perch fishermen. If I-bay is open, the perch guys are out there too. With the inflatable PFD's it would not be that much of a bother to wear one.

    I run leads 18 - 32". Some days one is better than the others. I let the fish tell me what one they want. If you run Spin Doctors, run them o the more action side and a fly back 32" will still have plenty of action.

    reelxite, I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ here. Is it restricted to the Oak only? For a cause like this (coming from a family with Diabetes history in it on both sides), I would be more than willing to fish it if we could fish it from Sandy. Again, I'm not trying to be a smart a$$.

    I have heard the same thing. I just hoping mine keep going strong. I heard some of the ones from China only last a couple trips. Thats not good.

    Thanks guys. Too bad the LOC minimum age is 10 . He wants to fish with us AND participate. I told him we will take a day off and fish with him. He is bummed he can't fish for prizes in the LOC.

    Gray Fox, Were your reels ones that were made in China or the US? I have heard the ones from China have had drag / clicker problems. I have 2 of them and have not had an issue yet.

    Rick, Was the water murky out there? I was looking at the Modis Imagery and it looked like the Genny mud was out that far.
