Allow trained and approved teachers to CCW
Hookedup replied to carpedium's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Why tax guns and ammo? Why not tax everyone who doesn't own property and doesn't pay school taxes. I pay thousands a year yet some dirt bag with ten kids in school who lives in an apartment gets away with out paying a dime. Raise sales tax one percent give it to schools and lower landowners school tax. [ Post made via Android ] -

I have a problem with the folks that say assault rifles are the problem. First of all automatic weapons have been banned for years in most of the country . So instead of outlawing assault rifles they would be outlawing semi automatic rifles. Every job that I have had a since I was 18 I have carried and depended on a firearm. I am a firearms instructor as part of my job and used to be an armorer in the military. I would much rather take on the guy with a pistol and 2000 rounds with the tricked out AK in close quarters then the guy with a box of 00 10 gauge buck and a sawed off pump shotgun that his grandpa used to shoot ducks with. The assault rifles gets picked on because it looks scary and is probably the reason wack jobs pick it. I think you will see a ban on mags, and semi rifles but do not believe it will help the problem. God help us if a highly trained wack job walks into a mall or school with a single shot shotgun, then where will the next laws take us. As for school security it needs to be stepped up big time. Look at what stepped up security has done for state and federal buildings, but schools got left behind. All I know is I have three little girls in school and I pray every day that they are safe, and can't imagine what hell those parents are going threw. [ Post made via Android ] -

Seneca 2nd Annual Seneca Shootout!
Hookedup replied to lakebound88's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
That's what tournaments are all about, the challenge and the chance to out fish your friends. Their isn't a guy in this tournament that can't out fish ya on a given day if they get hot. By having a mixed box it will spread guys out, who wants to have an all Laker tournament. That's what's the national Lake trout derby is for. [ Post made via Android ] -

Do a grand slam tournament, four fish Brown, Bow, Salmon, Laker, total weight of all four one point per pound 10 points per fish. Then Lunker for adults and Lunker for youth. Just an idea? -

Need a camera sponsor also and a some one to review all of the photos. And an observer so the same fish dosn't get measured 5 times. Sean -
With the technology in today's sonar units you can see all your rigger balls and the depth of them. When we run big flashers on dipsys we can see them. You can even see a slider with a spoon. If you couldn't pick all this up the new unit could be useful. [ Post made via Android ]

The diary cooperators may be way down but all you need to do is take a walk along a spring tributary from February to April 1st to see the number of spawning rainbows is nothing like it was even in the mid to late 90s. I'm sure habitat destruction, pollution, and poaching all played a part. One thing I have noticed the last two years is an increase in the number of small bows. I will say we do catch more bows per trip on Canandaigua and believe the lake gets much less pressure than Seneca and Cayuga. Seneca gets fished year round and takes a beating some months. I'm excited to see what happens over the next few years with the new limits in place. I also see how the poor guy who has to fish solo could be discouraged when he has to let a bow float when he has one in the box. Anyone with three or more guys in the boat has nothing to complain about how many do you need to keep. I have never had a client complain when he or she was told why we have a one bow limit on the boat. Lets see what the next four few years bring hopefully not grass carp and more hydrilla. You could take 5 browns last year and 5 Bows still can take 5 Browns this year and 5 Bows on Cayuga. Just can't have more than 5 in combination for your limit. The new regs don't include Cayuga Just Seneca and west to Canandaigua. So if you want to limit out on five browns in Seneca or five Lakers you can. I still have a one bow per person limit on my boat on Cayuga and Owasco for the last couple years if we are not in a tournament. [ Post made via Android ]

Just an 8 ft beam, if you have stuff set up right you can run a lot of lines out of a small boat. [ Post made via Android ]
-
Nope shallow or short lines on outside will go over the top of inside deep lined. Same when you let it back out just let board float way back out the chute then it will go back over the lines to its starting position. We like to run 12 boards six copper on starboard and six core on port. Then four riggers and six dipsys if we have the crew on board. [ Post made via Android ]
-
Heck no! Three per person if Jason and I have 6 on the boat plus us, ( could run 24) we run them and don't get tangled. [ Post made via Android ]

I run church boards either the walleye boards or the new tx 22 boards are great. Some days we will have six off a side. [ Post made via Android ]
