  1. Just get more inline planners and run them off boards. Or run a musky float and get it way back out the chute. A chute rod can get in the way. We have run 21 rods and never used a chute rod. They can get in the way when resetting long cores or coppers. [ Post made via Android ]

  3. If you spent time on catharine creek prior to 1994 then look at it now you wont find close to even a quarter of the Bows. This time of year before the lakers start feeding after the spawn you will be targeting bows every thing else has spawning on its minded. Bring them in slow and let them go at the back of the boat and most will make it. Sean [ Post made via Android ]
  4. They reproduce like rabbits and are hard as hell to kill, so why would they need to let them go? Look at what a few wolves turned into in Yellowstone. And they were easy to kill off, yet the coyotes never could be killed off in the same area the wolves were eliminated from. An insurance company's job is to cover its but, so if they did let them go I wouldn't want it traced back to my company. [ Post made via Android ]
  5. Fishing should be better when Lakers are done. I have got to spend a lot of time on Cayuga and Seneca the last few years and the fish numbers are down this year. I think the lampreys will only hurt Cayuga more for next year. Fish numbers were down on Seneca. I think the mild winter and the 40 to 60 boats at the launch all winter every weekend put a pounding on the salmon and browns. Laker numbers on seneca and Cayuga were not like last year. One good thing we noticed this year were lots of small rainbows. This is just what we found on my boat, DEC and others may not agree. [ Post made via Android ]

  7. Hi John, Were you guys set up at the Bath fair this year? Talked to them their, it looks like a great program you got going. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Thanks Ray, I went back to fix blades this year and dumped the two blade rages. After shooting lots of different heads I settled on Montec G5 an Slick Trick 100 standard's. Hit him with the slick trick and it was over. I still got lots of big bucks to call in for family once the rut starts, and a big one in PA with my name on it. [ Post made via Android ]
  9. I didn't get to hunt on the 1st but I got to get out for a couple hours before work yesterday morning. As most of you know the bucks are pounding the acorns and if you can find a good patch of white oaks not far from a bedding area you can put them down . I had a trail cam out for two weeks looking at some big white oaks and had over twenty bucks hitting the area in the daylight with eight of them worth shooting. As the sky lightened up yesterday morning the first three bucks showed up, then at 7:20 one of the eights I have pics of walked under the tree at five yards. I have some bigger ones on camera and on the wall but I had to give the new Mathews a work out . Got him cleaned out and tagged up, hunt was over in an hour and I was on way to work. Now the rest of the season will be taking out the girls for a doe and shooting video of bucks.
  10. Way to go! I hope he has hundreds more like it. [ Post made via Android ]
  11. Nice job! I will get ya some flies when I get me some LOL. When you going to leave the jv team on Keuka and fish Seneca. You drive past it every time you go, does that big water scare ya? I like that flasher. [ Post made via Android ]
  12. That sucks big time! I worry every time my boat is left at a slip. Worst thing is it was most likely a fisherman. Hope they slip off the dock at night. [ Post made via Android ]
  13. They will get pinched some day Jason when one of them gets grabbed for meth he will sing. But several other people will lose crap before that happens. As for the trooper comments LOL I have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for 74 in a 65 unless they were given a brake for the real speed. And the few troopers you see on the highway are only a small part of the ones who are running around dealing with all the crap calls. Guys stealing scrap or from camps can be hard to catch they know what scrap yards are dirty and lots of them trade items to meth cooks for product. Its nothing to have a meth bust and get hundreds of stolen items at the property. I hope they get what they got coming. [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Great job and great video Mike! I think I have fished that spot a time or two, where the Big Bows roam. LOL
  15. Mag dipsy on a 1.5 30lb wire out 280 with white glow spinny/white glow or blue glow fly at 2.0 to 2.2 speed at ball you will catch Lakers all day on the Fingers. If sharing info keeps some guy from giving up and gets some kids into the sport im all for it. If you need help just ask, lots of us have the info you need. Sean
  16. Reel Hooked Up boat and the Reel Stories boat pounded them today on Seneca. Capt Nick gave me some info on a hot spot so we made the long run to the North end of the lake this morning. It was non stop on Lakers and Bows all am and within two hours we were boxed out. They had no problem with my one Bow limit so one hit the ice the rest went back. All of the big lakers went back also with no problems. All were a Big Weenie bite today including Seneca Ghost, Reel Hooked Up Fly, Iron Duke and a new blue fly from Big Weenie all took fish in the 80 to 130 range. One of those days when you would put a rigger down and it would go when you took your hand off it. Bows and Salmon took spoons off the high dipsy's and off core and copper. I dont think a minute went by where Nick's boat or mine didn't have a fish on. Its amazing what you can do when the weeds and fleas aren't killing you. Best speed was 2.2 at the ball and 130 fow was loaded with bait and fish. Sean
  17. Let me know when you want my girls to come over and show you how its done. On my way to seneca right now. LOL [ Post made via Android ]
  18. I'd fish from sheldrake south go deep. The winning fish for the derby is out their. [ Post made via Android ]
  19. We were Marty! I was working solo today with two clients, nice report Ed I figured you were on your way to your hot spot . We smoked them good out deep lots of Lakers one that was 10 another that was 12 and four good Bows. You didn't miss a thing early the fish were off the bite, once the sun came out and the lake layed down they were on fire.
  20. Thats what we run, the Aftco roller releases work great. I run size one dipsys with the ring on my outriggers and on the inside two mag dipseys, this lets me run six dipsys. You could probably run six dipsys without outriggers but the extra separation is nice. Sean
  21. Cayuga has some great Lakers in it this year. We have put several in the boat over ten pounds in the last two trips. They are stacked up big time in my favorite summer hot spot. Lead core off the boards got it done today. The fish had moved up high, the strong wind from yesterday had brought the thermocline up to 40ft half way up the lake. The usual Big Weenie flies as well as some spoons and cranks all took fish. The weeds were bad today with lots of crap just under the surface. Bows, Salmon and Browns were taking spoons off the 40 to 60 rigger, 8 color core, and 200, and 250 copper. Sean
  22. Nice job Sucks when you get on the fish then the next day you can't fish them. Same thing on Cayuga today weeds had all moved North from the South end. Sean
  23. First off you have to start this post off by giving a big thanks to Nick for doing all of the work to put this tournament on. I know he had some help from friends and family today so big thanks to them also. Second I would like to thank all of the sponsors Hills Valleys and Streams, Big Weenie, Dreamweaver, Seneca Marine, and Frog Hollow marina. All of these good folks and businesses helped out a lot with prizes and gift certificates. I got to give a big thanks to Jason who didn’t get to fish today he helped big time with Dreamweaver and Big Weenie. Don’t worry Jason I didn’t beat up your side of the boat too much . I will post some pics to this post when I get them if anyone has any feel free to add to the post. The fishing for my team was great today- the plan was to get some big Lakers then pick up Bow and Salmon as we went. Well it took all day of weeding through 3 to 7lb Lakers before we got one that was over 9lbs. We never did get the other 9 to 10lb Laker we needed but we caught a lot of them. As for the silver fish we couldn’t get away from them we had several good bows all in the four to seven lb. range and one good brown. Every time I would park my corner rigger at the 56 deg temp it would fire with a bow. Well once again a big thanks to Nick and congratulations to the winning team you guys got some damn nice Lakers. I have fished in quite a few tournaments and this event unlike most went off without a hitch. The food was great and the pavilion at Frog Hollow was perfect for the event. I look forward to this tournament in the future. Sean Sierra working on a dipsy Laker Her Fish Another good Bow
  24. The wire rods are the way to go! Switch them all to wire for your dipsys and you will be better off. Sounds like you are up to high in the water column. Work the fifty to one twenty range out over deep water and run further north. Mike down at hills and Valleys will help you spend your money. LOL [ Post made via Android ]
  25. Hi Folks, Just checking to see who will be fishing the tourney with kids under the age of 16? If we have some I am going to put together a kids prize package. I am fishing the tourney with my kids, they are going to run the show Saturday. It will be a trip LOL but they are excited. Plan is, a kids two fish box (trout or salmon) and the two fish will not be part of the adults five fish box. So if you have a good day fishing with your kids they get to weigh in the five fish with you then weigh in up to two they have left floating in the cooler. Sean
