    I was told that NYS residents renting a boat do not need the safety course. IMO that’s the boater who needs it the most being unfamiliar with boating rules. Maybe the tourism angle again

    Thanks Chuck for the memory about Mike, can’t believe it’s been 4 yrs. He was the best nextdoor neighbor anyone could have asked for. I’m gonna play some Skynyrd’s “Call Me the Breeze” today.

    There is nothing wrong with high end reels as Gambler said. If you’re on a budget look at Okuma Convector 30’s for less than half the price for divers and downrigging. Okuma GLT 9’ rods are a decent choice for around $50 for divers and Okuma White Diamond 8’6’’ rods for the riggers are a good choice. Check out FishUSA.com, hard to beat

    Unfortunately we dropped that fish 50ft behind the boat on a 200 copper. Tons of bait and marks in that 80-90 ft depth, however yesterday was a different screen.

    We were the couple nice guys in the Pursuit boat that passed you while fighting a king. We may have appeared to be calm and relaxed, but anything but, when that king takes a 200 copper to 450. Not sure about the interesting odors spread all over the boat while fishing, not sure I wanna know. 😎 Thanks for the post and tight lines

    Sea Flee 300yds 30lb test. Never used $20.00 Torpedo weighted steel 200ft, 45lb test. Never used $18.00 Rochester area. PM for info

    We had 20 salmon/steelhead bites out of I-Bay yesterday and everything came out of temp. Mid 50’s to 60 deg was best. Not marking a lot so you need to stay patient

    Many thanks to the 4 guys listed above for running the 4 species derby yesterday. Very organized. Congrats to Bruce and Mick on 1st place. If we had landed a 22lb steelhead we could have beat em. 🙄
