  1. Heh Steve, was that sheepie the target species that day. And Bruce, I was trying to call you Sat. AM on the phone cause that was me crowding you on the inside in 50 FOW. Sorry if I got to close. The browns were very distracting. Kevin
  2. I agree that they wiil be just fine. I'm looking for a pair of 10 1/2's to run two divers on each side with my 8 1/2er's.
  3. Had a good brown bite off of Shipbuilders in 70-90 FOW. We had a fishing derby at our I- Bay Fish & Game Club and tried to put a brown in the money. Got 3rd with a 11.3lber. Landed 14 others in 2 hrs. 0630-0830. Headed offshore for big boys and had no trouble hooking up but not so good boating em. Went 5 fer 10, nothing big.
  4. I'll keep an eye open for him. Don't recognize the name. What length approx.
  5. For what it's worth my Clarion 55 wouldn't take 900ft power pro and 500ft #45 copper. Although it was close.
  6. Some nice looking pics Jammer. You did good finding 4 fish after that blow and turnover. Hope the boat is treating you well. Looking forward to fishing together soon.
  7. We think the fly leader gets a little slack and as the fish thrashes the line gets jammed in the crotch of the treble. Some say super glue in the treble helps this. If you tie your own a piece of .125 tubing on the treble shank helps.
  8. WoW! A very lucky group. My PFD's will be a lot more visible from now on. One question. I'm not sure I understand how a drift bag tied off the bow will keep the bow into the waves. That's assuming the bag stays under the boat. Wouldn't you deploy it off the stern?
  9. We were off Shipbuilders Fri. AM also when that storm rolled in. 100-130 was workin good for us till that first rumble hit. Then it was yank and run. Ended up with 5 teen kings and a steelie in 2 1/2 hrs. We were runnin next a Whaler on the way in.
  10. Nice goin. What are you fishing out of. We're out of I-Bay also.
  11. Very interesting. A buddy and I were talking about splitting the cost for one and dialing in our depths on our divers. I think you just convinced me.
  12. 17.5KG ( 16.5LB.) Claw anchor for sale. Brand new. $50.00 firm. In Irondequoit. PM or reply.
  13. Reelintense- everything came east off Shipbuilders- i did note that above

Drove down to look at lake. Didn't know what to expect after the NE blow on Mon. The north breeze was setting up the green water onshore out to about 50ft. With the temp we had we targeted browns with spoons and Rapalas. SS metallic frog and a Kevorkian look alike took 5 of the 7. Only miss was a braided diver hit out 65 ft. pulling another frog. Nothing big. Maybe 8 lb was max. ====================
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I've been trying to put an order online for several weeks. When I put all my credit info in it tells me credit card is no good. They should shut the site down because it's a big waste of time. Voicemails have not been returned. To bad really. There is a ton of interest the product.
  16. Great tips. Thanks. Capt Rob. I assume you're using the SPRO 150lb. heavy swivels. They will take the copper?
  17. I'm looking for an alternative to the albright knot on my copper setups. Does anyone use a haywire twist on the copper to form an eye and then tie your backing or floro leader to the eye. Shrink tube would be the finishing touch. Kevin
  18. How were the flies out there with the flat water. They were thick out by Braddocks on Sat.

Finally got a good screen at about 225ft. Wherever we marked bait there were fish nearby. Wires at 240ft and riggers at 85-90 got the hits. 10 lb steelie and 13 lb king were the bigest landed. 42 Sec spin doc took 2 fish and 5 hits. Had to head in for a clambake. Maybe get out once more this week. Kevin ====================
  20. It sounds like you caught the Van Lare crib. Guys were perchin over it when we went by about 0830.
  21. I'll take a light easter over a 10-20 NWster anyday. We're going out of I-Bay around 1130 tomorrow. What channel do you run on. UNREEL/Kevin
  22. Gonna miss all the good reports out of I-Bay. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Kevin
  23. It was nice talking to you at the beach on Saturday. Didn't fish Sun. AM . NE blow didn't look too inviting.
  24. Very interesting stuff. I just respooled with that 19 strand Torpedo in the spring and am happy to see those results. Thanks for posting the link.
