  1. Agree with what Tom said - I just paid $660 for a survey and the guy was extremely thorough. Even though the boat looked to be immaculate it still turned up a few things that need attention that I might have otherwise missed. Great for peace of mind and to know what you are getting yourself into, plus many insurance companies will require a survey to insure your boat.
  2. I don't think personally killing a few trout per season for eggs is unethical. No more unethical than people who harvest with the intent to consume but then toss the fillets out a year later because they are freezer burned. Salmon eggs aren't nearly as effective once you get into the winter months. Bead fishing has drastically curbed the number of guys who are killing trout for roe. Guys who fish bags should be able to keep fish within their legal limit for whatever they want to do with them. I don't agree with this proposed reg. Let me ask you a question if you are concerned about opportunity. How many browns or steelhead did your clients legally harvest last year? How many kings that were caught during tourneys were just dumped in the trash after weigh in? None of those contributed to potential opportunity come fall. I release 99% of the fish I catch from November to April in the tribs. I don't think my removal Of 2 or 3 trout a year for roe is excessive or unethical in the grand scheme of things.
  3. I don't think it's any worse than people who harvest fish - fillet them and then throw the fillets out a year down the road when they are freezer burned....lots of that goes on as well unfortunately.
  4. Rut-Roh! Someone looking for a new boat????? I will keep my eyes open!
  5. What shipping company is quoting $2.50 per mile to ship?
  6. I had been searching for the same - there appear to be a good number of freshwater 31 and 33s in Ohio...you will probably pay more than book value though for a freshwater vessel that's well taken care of from what I have seen.
  7. Steve - forgot you were the one willing to trade the wife as well! Too funny! Keep in touch. -Bob
  8. Just accepted a deposit on the boat - its essentially sold. Thanks to all who looked.
  9. Yes - still avail. Have a couple people slated to look at it in the coming week.
  10. While you may achieve the same depth - its a PITA in my opinion...especially if trying to run them out on boards with the added weight and trying to set them with dipseys on the same side...
  11. Yes - most guys use at least 30 lb. mono if they use a snubber, and 40-50 pound mono of they aren't running snubbers.

Trailers, launches, and loads extremely easy. Just add Downrigger balls, electronics, life jackets and safety gear and you are fishing! You will not find a cleaner or better maintained used Fishmaster 2100 if you can even find one at all. Main motor oil and lower unit fluids changed each year, kicker changed every 50 hours religiously. always have run fully synthetic fluids in both after initial break in. NADA list this 2011 as being valued at over 41K for boat, main motor and trailer in average condition. I would rate this boat above average condition as there is nothing it needs mechanically and cosmetically only has a few scrapes and a couple small dings. So figure 43k firm for this boat. Boat is located in Baldwinsville NY (just west of Syracuse) PM me for more information.
  13. I have a stash of about 40 brand new 44s, and maybe 20 or so brand new 22s. Some are smooth silver, others are hammered and have a few of the silver/brass. Never fished, and still in the tissue paper wrapping. Willing to trade some for something. Same as the guy above - don't need cash. Willing to trade for some other hard to find items....let me know what you have.
  14. Back to back uni knots - no swivel needed.
  15. Same here - added 120 feet of 40 pound to the end of my 30 pound for Sunday - was better than the straight 30 pound I used Saturday, but still left a lot to be desired.
  16. Awesome - you will not be disappointed!
  17. Stupidity + alcohol = boat crashing into pier.
  18. I am considering selling mine at the end of the season. 2011 21 foot fishmaster w 200hp Yamaha 4 stroke main with around 80 hours and 9.9 hp Yamaha high thrust kicker with control king throttle control and around 350 hours. Stainless 17 pitch Tempest Plus prop pushes it around 46 MPH top end, or about 42 MPH with top up and a full load of 4 guys and gear. Can fish an 8 hour day on about 8 or 9 gallons of fuel. Galvanized double axle trailer with spare, top with side curtains, and custom made canvas for trailering or storage. Also upgraded the bilge pump to an 1100 GPH bilge and added a second 1100 GPH bilge on an auxiliary rocker switch. Washdown pump, plus tranducer board installed. Would come with Raymarine VHF radio and antenna as well. Really looking to gauge interest....in all likelihood though it will be for sale after Labor day. Not sure if I would sell it fully rigged or as stated above.
