    There are many nice areas near syracuse. I myself chose Baldwinsville. I see from your name you prefer walleye maybe..oneida lake is not to far north of Syracuse.     I cant speak for chemlawn ripoff or any company..I do know its illegal to apply any fertalizer to a lawn prior to April 1.
