Fisherman21 and I dropped into 80feet and worked between there and 120 till 8:30. We landed two small kings a laker and another pretty atlantic. We also dropped four or five more.

are the Atlantic a common catch? I fished Lake Michigan for a few years from the mid 70s until the mid 80s and always hoped I would catch one, but I never did. but they were dwindling down them.

There are a lot of them around this year. Very pretty fish and promptly released.

What fishfinder set up do you have for jigging?  I'm interested in giving this a try but not sure whether a trolling motor is required to make sure you are vertical above the fish or if you wait until something shows up on the screen before you commence jigging.

Yeah, I always thought they were the most beautiful salmonoid fish in the great lakes. I am 74 years old and don't see me getting up there in the near future. all my old fishing buddies have passed away and my son who goes with me to Erie once a year most years just wouldn't be interested in fishing for salmon. even though he cut his teeth fishing for them on Lake Michigan.
