Insurance issues have killed a lot of participation type events in the past few years that were around forever.    So, I am figuring that and all the other hits that they have probably taken in the past few years like any other entity factor into the payout structure.  If participation is down obviously that hits the bottom line.

Maybe I just want to ****, but the fact that I can’t fish this with just my boys (under 10) has killed my interest.

When did the Fall LOC grand prize change from $25,000 to $20,000? Must be a participation decline.

Constant changing of the structure, taking species out, putting them back in seems to be turning a lot of people off.  I don't understand why reinventing the wheel keeps happening with the LOC.  Taking out the Fall Lake trout division and the Spring steelhead division were the start of the fall of the LOC.  Another big issue is the lack of weigh stations open in the evenings.  I know a lot of guys that don't fish it anymore because of this issue.  I don't blame the shops for not staying open since they don't make a dime off staying open late to weighing fish.

It is significant disadvantage to fish out of the Rochester area. The only weigh station available closes 5 hours before some of the others around the lake. Afternoon fishing in the derby isn't an option.

Be nice to see Mitchell’s be a weigh station again. Someone that is open till 8 during the derbies.
