Looking for any tips or tricks or advice based on your experiences. I got a new to me used Alumacraft Trophy 220 that had 2 black rubber bow rollers that are pretty much disintegrated. I thought about swapping them out for the V style poly type but the boat doesn't appear to be sitting right on them. What are the better options here or what has worked best for you? Thinking of 3 inch poly rollers versus trimming those V style down to fit. Also, I have always believed the winch cable to go between the rollers as pictured to the bow hook. Is that correct or should that be lowered so the cable is above them both? I should know better by now but always doubt myself that there is a better way.

In a place like that, you should have a V shaped one that is not as much of a deep V but a V shaped type that is also a roller so the bow can roll into it to the ideal spot without having to push up against something that does not move.

Hello fellow AlumaCraft owner. I slowly upgraded my old AlumaCraft with a new V Bow mount and also replaced the winch. Didn't cost much and the combo worked fine. Suggest maybe while its still in your garage or driveway, wire-brush and Rustoleum paint the trailer, run new Marine grade wires and LEDs. I also replaced the old wheels and tires and bearings, and hold down straps. I didn't want to worry about braking anything at the ramp or towing. just wanted to go fishing. LOL  Good luck. AlumaCraft a good strong boat for the price.     Speedy in Vermont

I would get rid of the V's and put rollers back on and leave everything as it was.

Yup.... 100%

Thank you all. Have some poly rollers on order. Black rubber just doesn't seem to last long.

Not sure about that. I replaced bow rollers on two different boats and went with the black rubber. Prolly get 10 plus years out of them and much easier on the boat than the poly. Good luck what ever you do.

I had a similar set up but with two rollers instead of the V's as shown. The mount should rotate on that center bolt, so depending on the angle of the boat launch your using, that moves so the bottom roller catches the nose and sends it up to the top roller, it pivots when it needs to. I had a 23' fiberglass boat on that set up and that thing worked great. So i would add rollers and make sure it pivots on that center bolt, i suspect you will like it.

Yes! I would say that double pivoting mount will only work with 2 rollers. Those V's are normally used signally on an arm that holds only one roller (or V bumper). But I also noticed that your bow has a very sharp V shape compared to may others and those V bumpers do not fit that angle. Since rubber rollers are softer, they may conform better to your bow.
