  4. Gents, I have a question for some of you fish finder experts... We have a Helix 7 and was working great until the last few times we have tried using it. The depth will only read out in the 70s and we cannot pick our downrigger balls up or paint any fish on the screen. Its just a bunch of **** on the screen. Cant even pick thermocline up like we use to. I am guessing the transducer is probably junk. I am in the process of trying to update the software to see if that helps. Any suggestions would help. We may just bite the bullet and buy a new finder all together. Thanks Melvin
  5. Great fishing today.fished 120 to 220.best screen was 130.first king 300 copper just over 20lbs Many fish dipsy spoons some ff.
  6. What is the hoop size, and where are you located? Thanks.
  7. Thank you Mr580….
  8. Fishon 11 both Cattaraugus Creek and Dunkirk are pretty accessible from Route 90/Thruway. Dunkirk better if you want to overnight first with lodging. On Cattaraugus Creek the Town of Hanover has a launch with fish cleaning station and there is a State Launch also. Dunkirk launch is at the City Pier and that has fish cleaning station as well. Hit 50/60 fow of water and go from there.
  9. Jomat, do you still have these available at half price?
  10. I have never fished Lake Erie but would love to. Where would you suggest a newbie from Syracuse area launch? And any help with depth and starting location would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

  14. Looking for fish hawk x4 probe
  15. Now I feel 50/50 about our lack of success. Fished 630–9pm. Most Marks in 140ish fow with few Empty knock offs. Then again in 90-120 fow tried knocking a laker on the head in 100 fow at last light for the guys with me and found we were dragging a 15” king on a 300 steel. at least is was a nice sunset!
  16. Plating is an art as well as a science. Yes, there are changes in government regulations requiring "adjustments" and some folks are more skillful than others in making those adjustments. Whoever does the plating for Hinkley is masterful at it.....that is all I can say. This is not to disparage Sutton (or anyone else for that matter) but it is a fact, and the proof is in a side by side comparison of the finishes which I'm not going to do on here... but give it a try for yourself! I am still a Sutton fan as well by the way
  17. Any chance you can take pics of the backside of the spoons for each lot?
  18. I run it down on a rigger on "TEMP" mode before setting up. I'll run it deeper than I think I'll need just to see the whole temp profile. It will show temp every 5' of depth. When set to "DEPTH" mode, you can test the depth of other lines like dipseys, lead, copper, etc. Make sure you are running straight at your desired speed and that the line you are checking has been out for a while. Start the TD, clip it on and let it go for a ride. A couple of minutes later, pull that line in and check what the max depth was. It is not meant to run on your line the whole time. I'll check a line when I'm ready to pull it in anyway for a lure change or whatever.
  19. Its good to know someone was getting them. I'll just have to go again LOL!! I just ordered some deep rig tackle herring strips so I'm looking forward to using them. We were marking them 90-100 down but they were'nt intersted in our riggers.
  20. I believe most mounting plates are 3/8 thick with about .020 to .030 clearance to slide into the track both thickness and width.. I don't see why you couldn't get away with 1/2" thick but I can't guess on the width. Going by memory here as a tool maker but I never really measured one.
  21. So you will overhaul 7 reels for 80$ New decent reels are 100$ each If the drags are even better than they were previously , there is a lot of value in doing it . While you have them apart , clean and lube them and you will be good for another 10k miles . Let us know the difference when done after a big 👑
  22. On a Cisco track how wide and tall would I make a plate to slide into it?? I am fabricating a piece to slide I. To mount something too thank you in advance
