  2. Just keepers Fishing bag. Hardly used. Asking $10. Sodus Point
  3. Today
  4. Bullet Bob, bottom bouncing with crawler harness works really well in nearshore areas for eyes.once you locate fish vertical jigging will also work. The trollers on suspended fish tend to cover more ground with more rods hence more fish. 2 guys 2 rods bottom bouncing can fill a cooler pretty quick and is not a difficult spread to put together. The “good old days” are now on Lake Erie eyes.
  5. Once you locate walleye your time is better spent trolling IMHO. Once lake temp hits about 65 alot of eyes start suspending in 40-65 fow. You'll see them on your graph 20-50 ft down. A 4,5 or 7 color leadcore with a stickbait is a winning combination. Troll at 2.0-2.4 and you'll get em. Good luck.
  6. Afternoon trip out of fair haven today. Wind reports looked like it would be a pretty easy going ride but it decided to lie today. We left the dock around 2pm to be greeted by a nice chop. Set up lines around 100 fow going north and had a quick release that didn't stay connected. A NE wind turned the chop into some decent waves and trolling into them became more difficult to maintain heading and speed to decided to make a turn. On the turn took a nice 18lb king on some meat in about 140fow down 135ish. Water temp at the top was 65 and down near the bottom was still around 55 but was marking lots of bait and fish between 120-150fow. Around 6:30 the waves were still growing do we decided to call it after getting a small coho on a dipsey while it was still going out, but probably hit around 180 out on a 2 setting. All in all a good father's day.
  7. Is jigging or bottom bait rigs/drifting totally out of the question?... I have seen hundreds of lake Erie Walleye reports, and every single one has been for and by trollers... Is it at all possible to bait fish or jig for them in Erie, or is there simply too much water and too few bottom areas that hold fish for jigging?... The vast majority of guys that fish for Lakers in big lakes troll as well, but sometimes guys jigging can stand toe to toe with trollers as far as numbers... Walleyes and Lakers have similar habits.. Some are near bottom, some are suspended on bait... Just wondering or is it pretty hopeless to jig/bait fish for Walleyes in Erie?....
  8. It looked skinny ! Could have been 40 lbs
  9. Could be 5 or 6 years as well.
  10. https://www.facebook.com/share/CzmoTvKqvYHq8nbB/?mibextid=WC7FNe A 37.5 lb king was caught in Wilson today. A true 4 year old….
  11. Yesterday
  12. Quite a few over 30lb showing up in WI side very early in the season. Should be interesting to see later this summer.
  13. Went to pick up a fishing partner at 4 a.m., he was not up and did not answer his phone, so I went solo. First line in at 5:35. I ran one rigger and two dipseys. Went 3 for 4 (only kept one). I had lines in by 8 a.m. Rigger down 105' took two fish on a mag silver carbon 14. A wire dipsey with an NBK took a fish while letting it out (3 setting at about 136'), and the same dipsey took a fish (I lost) out 230'. Fish were caught inside 170 f.o.w. It is always fun when you are solo and have to net a fish between the rigger and a dipsey because it won't cooperate (it just liked that side of the boat even when I turned). The fleas are here, but not bad yet. A Father's Day Dinner (and then some)
  14. Great job Yellowpike!
  15. Wow! Why did I drive past Buffalo to fish the Catt???? lol. 😂. I suppose with a handle like yellowpike4 you probably catch’em. What kind of program was working, sticks or worms?
  16. Fished from 7-11. Started setting rods in 170 heading NW, had a decent pick out to 210. Made a big u-turn and headed south east slowly back to 175. Hit a double on a diver and 10 color. Fun times when it's just my son and I and trying to keep everything untangled and the boat straight. We managed ok, thankfully, and landed both fish within a minute or two of each other. 8 for 11 overall, all spoon bite, a few diver shots, the rest were a split between 10 color and downriggers (set at 100 and 90). Best spoon was purple clown, then carbon 14 and mixed veggie. Great day of fishing! Started getting a bit rough around 10. We started pulling lines around 10:30, leaving the 2 downriggers for last. Both hit, great finale! A shout out to all the dad's, hopefully you got out fishing somewhere. And a shout out to the guy at the launch that helped me wrestle the boat straight on the trailer in the wind!
  17. we fished out of buffalo all week did boated over 100 fish
  18. Struggle bus for walleye this morning. We were in search mode all day. We tried a couple of inshore structures with no walleyes. Plenty of nice smallmouth and big sheep but not what we were looking for. Stickbait program scrapped, Rack and stack to plan C - offshore shoal. Worm harness on bottom bouncers, riggers and snap weight lines. We managed 4 walleye and three jumbo perch for the box BUT way too many sheep to cycle through. Most of the boats ran towards Dunkirk and worked the 65’ band or deeper. Today was a good day for total biomass but a challenging day to create fish fry memories.
