    Oswego,,Went 3 for 6 for kings with a bunch of shakers throwbacks on Sunday morning. Fished 160-280 depth, green ladder back spoons worked best. If you put some time in you will catch a few. We found some marks east of port and kept trolling back and forth over them until we got some hits,,,was the only technique we could figure to catch some fish.

    7 for 8 today, lines in at 5:30 and last fish on at 10 (fish lost at 10:35 [30 feet from the boat]). Started putting lines in at 100' in the chop with an inexperienced buddy of mine again. It took a while but I got two rigger lines, two dipsies, and two lead core in (all while trying to maintain speed, find temp, and watch the marks on the fish finder.) Saw some good marks low in 125' to 150' and picked up a dink (left fish and kept going...idiot move). Slid out to 200 feet. Found the temp I wanted but no marks so did a 180 and we got a 17 inch Coho on a NBK down 45'. A couple of minutes later we got a smaller Coho on a Dirty White Boy/ Glow cup down 55' (returned without leaving the water). A while later, another Coho down 70' on a Silver Carbon 14 mag (returned that one without leaving the water too). A bit later, we start heading East, my 8 core, with a Black Wiggle pattern spoon on, starts going out (I hear it clicking from the bow of the boat as my buddy is "watching" the lines. I get the inline planner off and let him land a nice 20" Salmon. Then two more smaller Coho inside 150 fow on an East heading (NBK and one on flasher fly) both returned. I start tidying up down below and all heck starts... My buddy gets out of his seat and grabs a rod, "we got a fish", and the drag starts going, silver/green dot uv mag (he he he, his first big one). His fish takes an easy 100' as I swing the downrigger out and bring up the ball to get it out of the way. Then I move the dipsy line and bring in the 5 core (of course his fish had gone over and under the 5 core). Got that untangled. Next, I take the rod and show him how to "work the fish in" and give it back to him. He has had `12 knee surgeries so getting a stable base is a challenge. THE OTHER RIGGER TAKES A SHOT(silver carbon 14 mag again)! And line starts rippin! I'm just holding the rod, watching it dance way back behind the boat...ugh...my buddy's fish is more important at this point. In a rod holder it goes. We get my buddy's fish in the net; 35 inches and over 15 pounds. I just drop it on the deck and focus on the next fish. It has taken out more than 350' at this point. I notice the line is around the dipsy on the other side of the boat so I do the dosey doe with my buddy and the salmon on the deck. I have him pull in the 8 core...my fish had gone around that too. We get that undone and in (without the lure, leader broke at some point). The fish is out 300' and I am not gaining. We start circling. Finally, when I get it into 200" out, I see it is WRAPPED and dead. Hard to bring in sideways. At this point, I should have just turned and gone toward it (lack of thought in the heat of the moment); fighting the wind, and waves. Got it to within 30' of the boat and the hook came out (I should have jumped in...nah!). I knew I only had a few seconds to turn the boat and get it but my buddy did not know how to turn the boat's autopilot off so asked him to watch the fish as I turned; he turned his head for second to grab the net and he lost the point of the fish. Easily more than 36", it was over 20 pounds... Fishing not catching... Inside 150 was best today and the last two we got wanted it fast (we were 2.8 to 2.9 at the ball).

    Left the mouth of Sandy 7:00am set up in 150fow on a north west troll out to 400fow. Rewarded with 3 nice kings we decided to pick up and run in setting back up in 100 to 120 fow to finish up the day at 1:00pm. Inside water today was looking great good bait and marks on the screen found temp break 70 down. Mixed bag Kings 1 Laker 1 Atlantic Final Score 12 for 14🇺🇲

    The main engine is an Optimax which is a two-stroke. I will have to measure the distance of the gunwales (which will have to wait until next weekend; I just got back today from fishing). By freeboards, do you mean the distance between the waterline and the main deck? If so, I will have to get a measurement on that next week too.

    For sale is a 2004 triumph logic center console with a 2004 Honda 150 4 stroke with under 600 hours. It has brand new canvass and isonglass enclosure, new T Top, plus seat covers for new pedestal seats with cushions. Included is two custom made storage bags located below the tee top one of which carriers the throw ring. All five pieces of the enclosure can be rolled up or removed entirely for easy access. All electronics are 2 years old or newer. Comes with 2 battery on board charger, battery shut off switch and spare prop. Has Garmin echo map 106sv, 10 inch screen and GT56 transducer, fish hawk x4, cobra radio, ritchie compass 4 Tee Top rod holders, 5 canon swivel rod holders in tracks, two scotty electric downriggers, led deck lights and spreader lights. There are live wells, wash down pump and numerous compartments, Included is a 2004 Triumph galvanized trailer specifically made for the boats with new bunks. Everything is in excellent condition.     Just got back. Fished out of Barcelona Saturday morning until about noon and Saturday night until about830- 11pm. Same area….relatively small amount of water 14-50’. Lotta guys out with the nice weather and the tourney out of Dunkirk. I was doing some scouting for the derby. Landed 10 Saturday morning 18-25”…missed some bites, half a dozen sheep’s, a big cattie, and some big perch. Best bite was in 35-41’. Fished the same area but shallower Saturday night, after dark no more sheep heads, walleye bite was consistent landed 10 in about 2.5 hours. All around 20”…..all on lures run within 8’ of the surface, regardless of depth. Couldn’t find any derby worthy fish and it looks like the pros in the tournament couldn’t either. Good bite on eater fish tho. Didn’t make much difference what u had in the water…caught fish on an assortment of stick baits, crankbaits, and harnesses.

    Jeremy and I fished the Canandaigua Lake Trout Derby this Saturday and Sunday and had a blast bring over 50 fish into the boat but couldn’t get anything larger than an 8.2 lake and a 5.1 Rainbow. The fish population in Canandaigua is GREAT once you find the ones willing to bite! I heard from a few guys that stayed on the west side that the bite was tough. We launched out of the north and fished the east side all weekend with a lot of fish to keep us busy! We marked bait in super tight about 30 feet but those fish weren’t biting for us as the best depth for us was 50 – 180 fow, all fish coming in the top 50 foot of the water column. MVP of the weekend was a custom spoons that need a repaint after brining in at least ½ of our fish that I have been sworn to secrecy. The Elmer Hinckley 777 on a 3 color was a solid second place. We caught no fish on Flasher flies or Divers. Only long lines on the boards and a few on the riggers.

    Started in 80fow worked out to 200. No marks, no bait, one small king in 180fow . Rigger down 53 but cheater took the fish. Did another pass through, another small king on cheater. One last pass and got a coho. On the cheater. No other lines took fish and only UV wonder bread caught fish. Not sure why lead core, copper, and dipsey divers won't take fish but I guess I'll be adding another rigger to the boat and skipping on junk lines if I go out solo fishing

    3/4 on Kings straight out from Oswego in 350-400’. 50’ down, orange spoons. Leadcore and dipseys. Nothing on riggers yet. Trolling north to south. Hoping to put a few more in the box before we head in.

    Yup. I would not be surprised to see some new regs for rockies in some waters.

    If you wrap your rigs around your paddles when u store them it will cause you to loose future fish as well

    Ended up only going out with a few friends for a 2 hour cruise yesterday afternoon but did put a few lines in. Picked up a small king in 150 fow on a cowbell/spin n glow that was down on the bottom for lakers that I decided to pull up a bit to 70ft down just to see what would happen. Really didn’t put much effort into fishing but hoping to get out during the week or next weekend and really put a good trip in.

    Did I read this correctly??, ROCK BASS TOURNAMENTS???... Honestly, is that a thing??... Geez, Trout,Bass, Perch, Walleye , even Catfish tourneys down here on the Susquehanna,, Do we REALLY need more oddball tournaments so sponsors can make a few bucks?... I dunno, but this is getting ridiculous.. Overfished Rock Bass, Sunnies, Perch, Crappies........ On the Great Lakes no less.. Commercially caught as well, so the captain can pay his dock fees???/. great.......

    Got on the lake at 6am started straight out from the chute in 120 ft, Before we could get rods in the both riggers went off and lost them both. Then after getting all the poles set the black with white crinkle glow had a big rip, went three times before getting to the boat, nice 15 lb king. Then after marking a small pod, both riggers went off again, this time after trying to stagger timing getting them to the boat for netting managed to land then both, these were 15lb and 16lb kings. After an hour took the biggest king on the meat rig, this one came in at just under 18 pounds. Then later just before leaving, caught a smaller steel head fun though, doing cartwheels all the way in. Fun trip first one out for the year, my nephews had a blast great memory for all of us. All fish caught from 140 to 190 and down 60 to 75 down.. steel head came late didn’t get the pic of it… good luck to all.

    Launched around 6:15, headed out to 200 in a bit of leftover waves which gradually calmed as the morning rolled on. Set up and headed North to 400ft. Completely blank screen along the way. Various Spoons, meatrig, Flash/Fly combo used. FishHawk showed temp brake around 50ft down out beyond 300ft depth. No action at all or even a lone mark. Made a few direction changes, swapped some tackle, did arcs, adjusted speeds up and down a little - no dice. Pulled lines and headed back to 200 to try inside depths. Found 5 or 6 boats in roughly similar area all spread out and going different directions. Finally hooked up with an Atlantic on a carbon 14. We started marking fish around 175-160ish depth, but not many. Inside water temp break was down around 100ft so we swapped in 450 and 600 coppers dropped the diver and lowered the riggers. Another hour passed and by this time we had only seen a few scattered marks. Decided to try for some Lakers to end the morning. Set up a cowbell rig, slowed a little to 2.2 ball speed. Within 15 minutes, had the 450 with a mag gramma warrior just start screaming. Halfway through the fight, the 600 starts peeling off, but felt like a laker. To add to the fun, the cowbell rig also starts bouncing- triple! We prioritize the salmon on the 450, then retrieve the laker, then lost a small laker at the boat on the cowbell. Nice finale to what felt like a terribly slow day. Got both my son and father on decent fish on a beautiful morning, a win in my book.
