  1. Past hour
  2. Thats what i see too Nothing looks simple or conventional One good spot, matching on both sides, to put flush mounts and gimbals but getting to the rods, setting lines etc looks brutal Then the angle of cable in turns and stuff is right in the prop So this may turn into a dipsey boat, no riggers No way i can give up a cup holder for a rod holder..... Its a party boat
  3. IMG_2482.HEICIMG_2483.HEIC It looks like the gimbal mounts on my Hurricane Fun Deck are mounted where you have cup holders on yours. You might be able to remove the cup holders and replaces them with gimbal mounts. If the gimbal mounts don't cover the hole because it may be too large you could use a piece of starboard to cover the hole and then mount the gimbal holder to the starboard? If you do this make sure you get a quality gimbal that is designed to take the stresses a downrigger will put on them. I've seen Hurricanes with riggers mounted on the swim platforms and it is a long reach to set lines.
  4. Today
  5. I’m out in the am. Days after look lousy. I will be on channel 72.
  6. Best thing you can do is team up with someone out of the port you are at and phone share / text each other to eliminate bad water .
  7. I use to listen and read all the stuff I could . This guy's hot lure I would run out and buy In different colors . This hot spot , that technique. I have boxes full of lures to prove that . I finally said to hell with all that and started running my program . And I started having way more success. I don't miss the chatter . Not saying that info is bad but it changes by the HR in some cases .
  8. Beautiful Survivor: 1990 Radoncraft "Cortez" offered locally or relocation back to California. Radoncraft was built by Davis Boats when the line was owned by Ericson. See Davis Boats FB page or BDoutdoors.com for more history on this beautiful line of sports fishing boats. This 22ft. Radoncraft Cortez originally sold on Martha's Vineyard, MA. The "Skipjack" was brought to western NY for fresh water sport fishing on Lake Erie and Ontario. The second owner bought the boat from an estate and repowered it with a new 260HP Mercruiser MCM 5.7 EFI engine and AlphaOne outdrive. When I purchased the boat in 2016 it had around 75 hrs. on the new power train. The boat features a full cutty cabin. Walk around design with wide aisles to built in bow seating. The bow hosts a companion way and rode locker. Large holds below are beneath a generous deck. Full canvas enclosure for helm. Live bait wells. Kicker motor mount at the stern. Built-in rod & beverage holders along teak inlaid gunwales with padded inwalls. New bilge pump, new fuel pump, new canvas covers bow to stern, new horn, new 250 ft. rode line. All original seat and V berth cushions, Radoncraft owners manual, porta-potty and fire extinguisher. Newly installed hubs, bearings, seals and tires on the Vantage double axle trailer make it ready to roll. The boat has always been serviced by certified marina staff. I will work with a buyer on delivery. Accommodations Full canvass enclosure surrounds a large bench seat at the helm. Folding teak doors open to a full sized V berth with cushions, porta-pottie, hatch window and generous holds under benches. There is a built-in seat at the bow, forward the cutty cabin with a cushion and generous space to ride or fish. Aisle from bow to mid ship is wide. Built in deck lights on either side of the motor shroud. Mechanical Equipment Only 133 hrs on a new power train. The boat was re-powered with a new Mercruiser MCM 5.7L EFI motor and AlphaOne outdrive. A new 250 ft. rode line is at the bow. 12V electrical service. Deck and Hull Equipment Hull and topside were professionally detailed in September prior to winter wrap. A bow roller feeds the new 250 ft. rode line through a companionway into the rode locker. Wide aisles and railings provide secure footing moving aft from the bow seating. Mid boat is the helm in a full canvass enclosure. Entrance to the V-berth is in front of the helm bench seat. Open deck behind the helm. Rod holders and tackle cabinets are built into the bench seat frame. 2 Live bait wells, one under the helm floor board and one in the stern. Huge tackle/catch holds on both sides of boat. Rod holders and drink holders countersunk into the gunwales and the inwalls are padded. A raw water wash-down is installed for the aft deck. Navigation Systems A new Garmin Depth/Chart Plotter/GPS Echomap UHD 93SideView is at the helm and transducer stern. 1990 Radon Cortez Name: Mark Edwards Email: [email protected] Radoncraft Narrative 061626.txt
  9. I wonder also about all the different avenues to which people gain information now. I see a lot more chatter in Facebook groups that are centered out of specific ports, often by the hour or even live streamed which helps anglers in the surrounding waters make the adjustments in the moment then I do retrospectively the day after on LOU. Just my two cents.
  10. Got a report from a buddy out today that limited out in short order between the Catt and Dunkirk in 30-40’. With the winds coming the next few days, it will be on like Donkey Kong. Get ‘em.
  11. They run very much like the Apex 4" & 5" lures from Hot Spot..... more erratic than a spoon, which can be a very good thing on some days...
  12. Brian - I don't know if it would help protect just the reefs. (That's why I'm asking.) Latest preyfish assesment didn't say about them. Check out this article from USFWS. Native and Invasive Species Interactions | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
  13. Tom, The bottom is literally littered with gobies. Dropping cameras down along the bottom shows how many there are, Trapping them wouldn't help at all.
  14. It has been that way for several years. I know that two or three years ago I was selling my boat and that charge came up.
  15. I've been using the #3 size for Walleye in western basin of Lake Erie for the last month. I have really worked the heck out of them, because I bought so many of them, and they are expensive. I want them to work. They definitely have a fantastic side to side wiggle action to them at slow trolling speed 1.8 and is consistent running faster at 2.5 mph. I had to replace all of the stock hooks with Gamakatsu #1 Siwash hooks, as I was losing too many fish on the stock treble hooks (they are a size too small IMO). Our hook up percentage has increased dramatically. my buddy replaced all of his with Bandit hooks (size #4 trebles) and likes them better. The paint is holding up pretty good. NASCAR has been our best color. So far, they have produced the best behind a #3 Chinook diver, but we have also done well using them behind a Jet 30. I plan on trying them on short lead cores soon, as i feel they will do the best on them. Are they a magical lure: Not in my opinion. Have they caught any more fish than my Stingers or Silver streak Jr's: No I'm going to keep running them, simply because I bought so many and I want them to work. I do think behind 2,3 and 4 color lead cores for walleyes they will do well because of the action. My buddy bought a bunch of the #4 and #5 size to try on Lake Huron for Lake trout. I think they will work good for that.
  16. I live in Kingston I can get this
  17. Im trying to list my boat is there now a $89 dollar charge to list a boat? I listed a few on here over many years never received any charge notice.
  18. 1,700$ worth of spoons in this box. Most in great shape. Dreamweaver (Mags, standards, SS), Michigan stinger and stingrays, moonshine mags and standard, NK, Warrior. A lot of spoons catch fisherman. The spoons in these box catch fish. All proven fish killers on Lake Ontario. 188 spoons in the box. I’m asking 1,000 dollars for the spoons plus box or make what you think is a fair offer. Pick up in Rochester
  19. I will take these. Pm sent
  20. Yesterday
  21. Hi still have the planner reel and pole?
  22. Couldn't complete the downloads of videos on sciencebase. "Big files" is an understatement. Did watch the U-tubes. Very interesting. I hope it's successful. Am wondering about Gobys. I haven't seen any recent data on Goby populations. I did see that USFWS put out an article a while back that they love LT eggs and are a detriment to successful recruitment of LTs. i.e. that they trapped a couple thousand on a spawning reef. I understand that LTs won't protect nests like Smallmouths do. (maybe I'm wrong there) Are there any plans to trap them at cleaned sites?
  23. Just a quick reminder that this Derby is coming up fast. Please consider signing up to help make this a great success. You will not find a better reason to fish. Over the past 3 years hospice has received over $6,000 from this Derby.
