  2. ELOSTA has hosted this on the east end since the old meeting format was scrapped. I do not know who hosts the other regions of the lake. It has been a more relaxed format with a ton of information shared. The more people who attend and get to interact with the presenters the better informed we will be. Plus it is great to hear some other fishermen's perspectives and ideas on the fishery - a good night out. Hoping to see a packed venue.
  3. $80 for the pair pickup Oswego NY PayPal friends and family please is [email protected] Venmo is @Gregory-Dale-17 semd pm
  4. It’s never been used. Just demo reel for Diawa Rep at shows. Came in a collection I purchased. Can send pics later
  5. 12 for 17 last Saturday out of Sandy. Top 60 over 240. 10 Kings, 1 Atlantic, 1 Coho. Most action was on 5,7,10 Lead-core, some rigger hits with slide cheater taking the hits. All spoons, best UV Carbon14 and UV Can't Afford It Stingrays. Chinook divers only took one hit.
  6. Just put a power drive 12 V trolling motor on a 20 foot pontoon boat. Recommendation on a battery for it.
  7. Today
  8. If you look online you can see the old data from the state of the lake meetings and the newer format (no meeting). The last one I could find was 2022.
  9. Kevin, from the pics I don't think you guess much. 😀 Thanks for the info.
  10. I use Okuma big lake tournament ML and L on inland lakes here in CO, they work well and the lighter sizes are priced right.
  11. The East End State of the Lake Meeting will be on July 17th, at 7PM, at the Mexico VFW. Chris LeGard, Steve Hurst, et al... will be there to give information about the latest data and projects as well as to answer questions form the public. It is being hosted by ELOSTA and all fishermen are welcome and encouraged to attend. This has been a worthwhile evening in the past and has taken the place of the large meeting format that used to occur at Pulaski High School.
  12. I have an eagle 33 1/2 I love it. Looked for over 6 years. No rivets. Good luck
  13. I only run mooselooks and the smallest Michigan Stinger Scorpion spoons on this particular lake. I like to be able to feel every bit of the fight and headshakes while I’m playing out the fish. Let me know when you find a dowrigger rod that you’re happy with, it would save me some trial and error as well.
  14. I fished out of Sandy and Braddock last week, agreed Braddocks is very shallow. Braddocks was slow (it was super rough and the afternoon when I went out) got one nice brown in the 1.5 hours on a spoon in 100 ft of water. Sandy we got out early, fished for 3 hours before getting blown off. All the fish were caught between 190 and 220 feet right in front of the channel, 3 Kings, one Laker and a steelhead and 2 misses. All on spoons, all in the top 70 ft, meat rigs didn't move at all.
  15. I want to be careful with what I write. Here I troll up to seven colors of 18 pound lead core with nothing but a mooselook, DB, top gun, or similar lure. No cowbells, flashers, or dodgers. It is my humble opinion that the rod will be fine with that. I can't speak to having a lot more stuff out there.
  16. Good to know, thanks. I recently bought a Daiwa wilderness ML for a leadcore rod. It will work well for that but with just running mono for smaller trout it is overkill. I was catching 5# laker trout on my Starfires last weekend and each time thought I hooked a double digit walleye.
  17. Purely anecdotal but I think the 15-17 lbers are stocked three year olds and the large group of 10-14lbers are the result of a good hatch of naturals that occurred somewhere.
  18. Just a quick update if anyone cares. Put my money where my mouth is and bought the 9 foot ML Flagship rod. While a very nice rod, it is far too heavy for what I do here in Maine. It will be ok with lead core but not on the rigger. I have no criticism of the quality of the rod, just not what i want for riggers. I plan to pull the trigger on another Ugly Stick to see if they are as different as I have been told. I hate buying rods unseen. Thanks to all for the responses.
  19. I have a couple new in box but do not have line counters, just standard.
  20. Unfortunately the Honda kicker I got came with controls and has no external shifter. I did but a throttle master for it though to control my speed to 0.1 mph increments
  21. I've done a little research and Honda cables and Mercs aren't interchangable. Thanks anyway
  22. Winds from the East,,Fishing is the least!
  23. Was able to get out and fish 5 days during the LOC out of Rochester. The goal was to catch a big brown but the inside water cleared up and made it very difficult to target them. I tried multiple techniques and locations and only boated 1. So take what the lake gives you, the salmon fishing out of Rochester was good to decent most days but we were not getting the size needed to place in the LOC. We changed gears and targeted lake trout during the late mornings. On Sunday I brought my kids and we fishing Lakers from 7:30-12:00 and boated 41 trying for that LOC fish kids division. We came up short by a pound with the biggest around 17LBs and a handful around 16lbs. Hammerhead cowbells, NK cowbells with gambler rigs behind them on the riggers. The Lakers were anywhere from 180'-100' close to the bottom. Colors did not matter these fish were hungry. I did notice when I was bringing the downrigger balls up the lakers would chase it. So when I would see fish on the graph I would bring the down rigger up 10 feet and 9 out of ten times it would trigger a strike. The kids had a blast, I was tired but it was fun to constantly have fish on. All but 2 were released and burped! Boated over 90 lakers all week just could not get a big one. Eric
