Went out of the SBH this morning.  Lots of boats on the Canada border.  Surface temp was 75 and change.  I was pulling 4 rods with harnesses about 1.2mph.  Caught about 10 walleye and a bunch of sheepshead including a huge one.  Couple of eyes were small so were let go.  6 or 7 made it in the cooler.  Had to work a bit to get em, so not like a couple of weeks ago but there are still fish around.

Fishing has been great at the Cat the past two weeks. A lot of those buffalo fish have moved to deeper water . We started in 58’ today, put the terrova quest on drift mode at 1.6 and had our limit by the time we hit 60’.  Riggers down 55’, lead line at 7 color and wire dipsey out 110 on a setting of 3. Used harnesses and small spoons .

If you don’t mind me asking, how was the launch at 8-8:30 on Saturday?  I got there at 5:30 because I was worried about parking . I would much rather get there later. It’s a long drive from Rochester.

100% agree with you we live 1.5hrs from the boat launch also traveling from Rochester. It wasn't bad at all zero waiting time to go in at 8am guys were starting to come in as we are leaving. Worth it to sleep in a bit then head out we had consistent bites all morning.

I also drive from Rochester and my last few trips to the Hanover launch we left at 7 am. No line to launch. Guys already coming in. I use to fish the late afternoon and evening bite but it makes for a late night and the cleaning station closes around 7 pm.

I have a friend that has been fishing out of Sturgeon Pte along the Canadian line and getting his limits.

Fished a couple miles east of the elbow on the Canadian line out of Buffalo today. 19 in two hours and we lost about four others. Still on fire. Dipsey with worm burners out 120’ on 3 setting. 7 and 8 color cores with sticks were really good. Crawler tipped pink spoon on rigger down 48 over 58 fow was excellent.

Mini rollover has happened. There is a massive fish kill happening. Sheepshead dead or dying in the ten’s of thousands. Really freaky. Seagulls have plucked the eyes out of fish still alive making an army of zombie sheep. With O 2 levels bad, walleye have left the shoal off the Catt. Boats are way offshore to find good water. After graphing no fish on the shoal we decided that the only place with good O2 would be near inshore weeds. We fished along the point off Hanover Bay in 8-12’. It was as an absolute clinic on bass plus two bonus walleye, one mega perch and some sheep on blade baits. Fish out deep got pushed super shallow due to rollover. Everything got condensed

Nice job checking the water temp and heading out to the 85-90’ area.  From what I heard, that cold water was still there on Monday and the fish were deep. By Tuesday, the temp went back to normal as I found out when I drove right past the good temp to check out 90’. Nothing there. Screen was blank!  Went back in to 70 and game on. We got our limit in an hour. Same program of worm burners and harnesses. Fish were down 44-50.

Ran out of fillers from the last trip and dad has been talking about it for weeks so we e made the long drive to the catt listened to the posts and slept in longer to drive in the daylight hit the launch around 8:40 and there was a line of boats coming in already limited out ran out to 60 fow started setting up having some issues than had the back or12 clip on my board broke like a whole half of the red clip was gone and the board was floating away we did the crazy Ivan circle with half our rods out and got some looks and I might have heard someone shout googan whole time giving my brother crap for not putting it behind the pin finally recovered it saw that it was broken so said my sorrys and we started fishing I didn't sit for 3 hours riggers and dipseys with harnesses and a 7 color on the board and board with drop weights if I'm catching walleye like that it must be easy boxed out in just about 3 hours and wanted to bass fish but to darn hot. Even had to trow back some that bit while picking up the number of fish out there is just unreal. Riggers at 55 and 62 #4 chinooks back 100 and 120. A 3oz drop weight back 80 and a 7 color all took fish harnesses and storms

Huge shoutout to Tom for giving me some Lake Erie walleye info that absolutely helped me have a very successful first Erie walleye outing. I took my son, my buddy, and two of his sons. We launched out of the Catt alittle after 2:30 yesterday afternoon. Ran out to 60 and started marking fish in 63. Worked 65-70 with two riggers and two size 4 chinook divers on a 4 setting. Riggers down 48 to 60 with 55 being the best and chinook divers 85 out. Pulled rods at 7:30 with our 6 man limit. Worm burners and worm harnesses were best. We did pull a few on sticks as well. We ended with 32 walleye, a perch, and a beautiful 11-13 pound steelhead. No pictures because I went to rinse it off and it flopped out of my hands 🤦🏼‍♂️. Either way, awesome first experience on Erie!!!
