You are kidding ,right ? I could not list all the things that this guy has failed us on in this forum . His decisions are made on politics only and what is good for his party to stay in power .I watched that entire sad excuse for a state of the nation . And so did Putin im sure . I watch all news channels just to see . No mention of Hillary spying on your channels . Not surprising . So who is lying ? I dislike all politicians . Some of you guys must be in denial over what is currently going on in this country and around the world . When America is weak , the world is in turmoil . If you voted Joe , the blood of those kids is on your hands .Have some honor and Take responsibility. .

Now I am going to do my best to get myself throw off this site . While our adversarys were busy pumping up their military and economies ,and blatantly admiting they want to crush us , a lot of our elected leaders were busy with Russia hoax ,spying on campaigns , impeachment, mail in ballots , and on and on and on . We got our steel mills back , our economy going , made NATO pony up etc. And most importantly , we were energy independent . all which were good for national security . All that stuff evaporated in 1 year . So if you got duped into voting for a confused weak ass , woke president and a tenth grade cheerleader mentality VP who is a heart beat away from being the leader of the free world , congratulations . Elections and how you vote has concequenses. And it is glaringly apparent now . The crazy inflation , the war , the little kids fleeing the country and getting bombed and bleeding are your responsibility , plain and simple. You voted for all of it . Putin is like a dog who smells weakness . And he got his window of opportunity . Thanks to all who voted Joe . I'm looking forward with hope to Dec.and 2022. Hopefully there is something left to salvage . Fishing to me seems a little trivial at the moment. .

I really love it when people want to tell other people what to do with what they own .

How about the deer / game on everyone's private posted / hunting rights leased land ? Can we walk on their land also ? Those animals are not stocked , but we pay to manage them .

It is his property to do with as he wishes within legal means . We ain't Russia or China , at least not yet . But I wonder what the property taxes on that very unique and valuable property is .

What I figured I think I will pass Not really me land that they are interested in anyway . Or at least I think.

And furthermore , I would like to see , if possible , the hatchery in very close proximity to a university that offers fishery biology . They could help with all aspects from start to finish of raising and research on this . Possibly an entire great lakes program . Kind of like the U of R and Strong hospital . If this can happen , do it right for the long term .

Well it seems to me it would be nice to get something tangeble out of this. Something that could actually improve the fishery and safeguard something that could be catastrophic at another hatchery . All the answers about bait , etc are good , but improvements and building upon what we now have would be awesome . Not just for LO , but the western and central NY fishery in general .

How about a new state of the art hatchery ?

It's winter , what do you expect . Lots of ice for ice fishing . And snow for snow mobiles An old fashioned winter So much for global warming

Where are you staying ?

My father wintered in Venice for about 10 years . I fished the Jetties , particularly the North Jetty . It was good fishing for the most part . Got Snook , Sheepshead , Mackerel ,Snapper , Jack's , Sheepshead , etc. Shrimp under a float was the best with shrimp on a 1/4 or 3/8 jig second . tide timing was important . It was fun . I believe the Tarpon migrate south during winter and make there way back up to the Tampa area July . My brother is in Naples and we fished for them mid May . I lost a small one . Had him on for a second . He jumped and I forgot to bow to the king. Saw some monsters cruising the shallows at the Marco pass .

I was 17 my first derby . We threw Cleo's off the piers . Had no clue what we were doing . Bought a 17 ft wood boat and outfitted it with 2 Riviera manuals and a flasher depth finder . Ran stickbaits close to shore mostly. Spring was 4 days . Boat launches were backed up 20 cars . Fishing was more fun back then . There was a mystique to it that is long gone for me . A 21 ft boat was big back then . Look at the equipment / boats we have now . It's on the verge of unfair chase .

A friend of mine won the spring derby maybe 1979 Got it on a 1/3 oz Cleo 5 ft down on a rigger and ultra light with 6# test at the Oak off the ladders in 15 ft. . I think it was 17# . He was sleeping while his father was driving the boat . He played it out , netted it , and when they were bringing it over the side , it went thru the netting . But they managed to land it . Won a new Hydro Sports boat . Selden Beebe. RIP.

All I ask is the people that we elect to office to serve us , do right by the American ,yes , American people . And I might not even agree with some of it . But most don't . One guy did , and look what they did to him . And they wonder why we don't trust them . I think they don't even care what we think . Stay healthy my friends .

What about all the small businesses and restaurants that were forced to shut down ? Every day these people were begging to survive . Guess you may have missed that . What about all the free money for those who make more staying home than working ? Which is largely to blame for the labor shortages and supply chain issues? I as a landlord have people that are still waiting for assistance because their employer was shut down . And the best part , I could not evict them , not that I would, because the gov said I could not. So I have to pay their utilities and pay my taxes and mortgage, but can't evict non payers even if they can pay but don't have to . This has bankrupt a lot of property owners . And Trump got the Vaccine done when Biden and Harris said it was not possible . And Kammy said she would not take it and encouraged others to do the same .How soon we forget . More worried about impeachment over stuff Brandon actually did .Remember that ? Seems to me Nancy and her crew made the mess . Now they are crying that a lot , mostly minorities, which does not get reported , will not take the shot , which is available pretty much everywhere. We have had bad flus before and people die . That's life . I'm not afraid. And excuse Trump for being positive. We have more ventilators and other equipment than we will ever use because of him . So please,with the he did not do anything . Time for the out of shape people of this country to keep the junk they call food out of their face, get off their asses , and start living a healthy lifestyle. That's a real OZ of prevention . So this stuff doesn't have as big of an impact . Did not think this post would go in this direction .
