Downrigger line question

Time to change my downrigger line (way overdue). What is the recommended line nowadays for Lake O trout and salmon. What is everybody using? (brand and # test). Does anybody use or have tried braid or is it still mono? Im assuming a Flouro leader? Thanks

 

Also is the flea line still made? I think it was blood run?

I use 25# suffix superior year round.  I'm not anal enough to start light in spring and change heavier throughout the year.  Been using it for years and have nothing bad to say about it.

30# Trilene mono and leader down to 17# Floro in the spring.

Straight 30# when the fleas start

30# big game to 20 to 25 ft of 15 to 20# mono or flurocarbon ..

I prefer 25# Blood Run Tournament mono for my rigger rods. Straight mono for flashers and I add Blood Run 20# fluoro leader for spoons

30 lb Berkeley big game green for main line.  Leaders are 20 lb Trilene XL green for spoons.

30lb. test Ande or Trilene Big Game, leader down as mentioned above.

Blood Run Sea Flee or Tournament 25lb as backer. 30’-35’ long Seaguar Fluorocarbon leaders. Leaders are 15-25lb test. 
Similar to what Legacy said for flasher/fly cut bait, I run just the backer no leader. 
 

Spring rods are spooled with 15lb Big Game backer with 30’-35’ 12lb Seaguar leaders. 
 

Seems to work well for me.
