Official Rules will be handed out at the Tournament Saturday, but I wanted to get a draft up here for anyone to comment on. I utilized the Sandy Creek rules and modified to fit our needs. If anyone has any gripes, positive feedback is appreciated by COB today.

1. All fish must be caught legally in accordance with NYSDEC regulations. All entered fish must be caught in U.S waters of Lake Ontario

2. All boats must leave from and return to Arneys Marina in Sodus Point, NY. Vessels leaving from or returning to other ports are not eligible to participate.

3. All boats must sign in at the registration table in Arneys parking lot by 6:00 am on Saturday August 4th, 2012.

4. Each boat will have a minimum of two participants, one of which is a tournament supplied veteran or volunteer.

5. Veterans will arrive at 6:30am and begin boarding their designated boats.

6. All boats will leave Arneys Marina at 7:00 a.m. and travel through the channel to the lake together, once through the channel and in the lake boats may separate and begin fishing.

7. All boats must provide at least one cellular phone number at the registration table.

8. If the lake is deemed too rough for the Salmon Slam by the tournament coordinator, prizes will be raffled off to teams who take the veterans fishing in the bay for bass, perch, etc. (Boats may take their veterans fishing on the lake if the captain deems their vessel safe for the rough lake conditions and still be eligible for the raffle).

9. Any tournament change due to weather will be made by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event.

10. Fishing will end at 11:30am.

11. Weigh in will be at Arneys Marina beginning at 12:00 p.m. and end at approximately 1:00 p.m. (or when all fish are weighed in). Participants must be in line with their fish/cooler no later than 12:30 p.m.

12. Legal fish species will be any salmon and trout, except for lake trout which must be a minimum length of 30 inches. All fish must meet the minimum NYSDEC size limits at the time of weigh in. Any team bringing non-legal fish to the weigh in will be immediately disqualified.

13. The largest salmon, steelhead, and brown trout can be used for weigh in. You may also weigh in your largest legal trout or salmon caught on your Salmon Slam spoon. All fish must be brought to the weigh station in coolers.

14. Scoring will be based on weight, 1 point per pound.

15. In the case of a tie, the boat that weighed in first will be awarded the higher position.

16. The largest individual salmon, rainbow trout (steelhead) and brown trout will each receive awards.

17. If no fish are weighed in for a category, the prizes will be entered into the raffle.

18. Each teams largest fish weighed in will receive raffle tickets based upon weight:

• 0-9 lbs = 1 ticket

• 10-19 lbs = 2 tickets

• 20-29 lbs = 3 tickets

• 30+ lbs = 4 tickets

19. All participants agree to hold Tournament Committee members, Project Healing Waters, Arneys Marina, Sponsors, their agents and volunteers harmless from any liability of any nature or kind for injuries and/or damages suffered by the participant during this event.

20. Participants agree to grant permission to use any photographs taken during the derby or awards to the Tournament Committee and any sponsors.

21. All fish will be examined by the weigh master prior to being weighed. Any fish that has fungus or rot, freezer burns, clouded eyes, slimy gills and unresponsive flesh will be disqualified.

22. Participants agree that all decisions of the Tournament Coordinator are final.

23. No disposal of fish will be allowed at the weigh in. All fish must be removed from the weigh in property. Any participants disposing of fish at the weigh in property will be immediately disqualified from the derby and any future events.

24. All tournament communication should be conducted on VHF Channel 9.

25. We promote open communication during this event in the hopes that every veteran is able to fight a fish.

26. In the event of Emergency or returning to port early, please call the tournament coordinator, Nick Allers, at (484) 302-1590.

Team e-Outdoors has flaked out on us last minute, but not to fear, sounds like a bunch of us will have our GoPros going and I'm sure a lot of us will take pictures.

I've setup a group album for all of us to load our pictures and videos to. You can find it at the following link:

You sure have put in a lot of time and work putting this all together and I'm sure it has grown beyond anything you imagined when you started. I wanted to say THANKS for everything and I'm sure the vets will have a great day on the water, even the weather looks like it's going to cooperate.

I'll be going up tomorrow and if there is anything I can help with on Friday let me know

Thanks again

A lot of people are busting their butts to make this thing come together, so thank you to everyone involved!

A few hundred cookies and several dozen pies later Theresa is ready for bed :)

If anyone is interested a bunch of us are going to hit up Jack's for dinner around 7pm Friday. Feel free to join us or just stop by to say hi!

amen to that. as a recently medically retired veteran from OIF, having had the opportunity to benefit from project healing waters a few years ago, this means so much more to me than one could think. it is a great joy to read each day how much people truly want to help and care. my dad was giving me a tong lashing the other day because i wasn't going to be one of the "vets". i told him i get the bonus package because not only do i get to take someone out and show them how the fishing has helped to get my head on straight but i also get to meet fellow brothers with similar experiences. what an honor it is going to be to fish next to you all. thank you all
