  2. It might return, Lake Michigan is staring to get back to the glory day sizes and set the Great Lakes record for Chinook a couple years ago.
  3. I've got a couple people coming into town late July for work and they want to do some fishing. I have always wanted to do a Niagra River bass charter and thought that might be fun. Anyone know how the fishing is that time of year. I would assume it is good timing, but never fished the river. Also wondering if upper or lower river is better. Any advice on charters to consider? Any help would be appreciated!
  4. We know how to target big kings and don't bother with the little guys. Seriously though, I'm blessed to be in an area which touts the best cold water fishing and large spawning runs for the most part. What I did notice was a much lower quantity of kings last fall compared to typical years. And for sure we will never return to the size of kings of the 1980's. Lots of brutes back then where the smallest fish during the GOSD or TO Star derbies was 37lbs.
  5. Sure thing. I hope this helps. They fit 7/8” - 1-1/2” OD pipe/tube
  6. Fishing in little sodus bay and its small mouth as far as you can see. So many small mouth we can’t find any Rocky’s. Don’t know what to do. We thought about going on the big lake and trying to catch perch. Anyone know where to catch perch on the big lake? We were hoping to catch a bunch of Rocky’s but I think that dream is over.
  7. Bill, what length when running your Gary D rig?

  12. I was fishing for Perch on Monday and this Sturgeon hit a nightcrawler. I was lucky enough to have another bigger one on for 15 minutes, until the hook popped. These are amazing fish. I heard rumors the DEC have been talking about a open season on Sturgeon. I don't think i would want that. Love the fight and beauty of these fish and quick release to fight another day.
  13. My lithium battery test study just completed for the new Fish Hawk lithium Ultra probe. 107 hours on one charge since April 1st covering 16 fishing trips averaging under 7 hours per trip. This for me is on par with 4 AA batteries from the past for shelf life.
  14. You can buy a new complete set up for $899.00 FYI it's on sale now.
  15. No survey but I do know that this year Trophy was a part of their redesign with foam filled fiberglass stringers/bulkhead system and a composite fuel tank. No wood below the waterline.
  16. Thats a big ole laker for Cayuga. Congrats.
  17. Went to Scotty’s 3 years ago so I could see the small fish hitting. Also use them for my copper and clip the copper right to it. Love them.
  18. I heard the trawls showed a lot of the bait was in Canadian waters. The big kings are more than likely hanging out at the buffet.
  19. $450, located in Rochester Cheap shipping available if needed 20240523_075532.mp4
  20. I also see that the Canadian side produces the biggest fish of the season As these fish are transient , or supposedly swim all over the lake , it seems with all the good fisherman on our side of the fence , one of us would hookup once in a while . I still believe that an ample supply of baitfish , at least to some degree , influences the size . If a fish is around a good supply of bait ,common sense would say that it would not wonder far from that ,and stuff it's face 24/7. Compare that to a fish caught mid lake this season especially where not a lot of bait was present . You are what you eat . I also believe , and have been saying for a long time with some pushback , these fish are evolving and adapting to LO from their ancestors environment of the ocean . Certainly they are eating somewhat different forage here than in an ocean environment . From my correspondence with DEC last year , they are all in on the bait, or lack of it, being the direct correlation with size .
