  2. When you were fishing that 140-180 fow, were you fishing a north/south, south/north, east/west, west/east troll? Was one direction better than another. Planning on getting out this Wednesday out of Braddock and any info you can provide would be helpful. Have not been out in about 3 weeks. Thanks! Mr Kato

for sale : usa Penn Yan 180 Gamefish

I've got a Penn Yan 180 Gamefish for sale. Very well maintained and in beautiful condition. It's got a 3.0 Liter Mercruiser in it, recently tuned and serviced by Snake Creek Marine in Montrose, PA. Bilge and engine bay are about as clean as you'll find. The engine starts, shifts, and idles perfectly. Comes with full canvas including bimini, side curtains, and mooring cover, all in excellent condition. Trailer has rollers and new galvanized cross members. I will include two (2) Big Jon electric downriggers and a kicker motor mount that you can install yourself or have installed professionally. The boat is turn key, ready to go. Stringers and transom are solid; no transom flex whatsoever with significant pressure added to the outdrive. Honestly a beautiful boat; I just don't need it as I am going to be restoring another Penn Yan. Asking $5600 or best reasonable offer.

  5. Well, if there is a best way to send a boat off, the little one reeling in a king out of deep water with spinning tackle would be it.
  6. My dad and I set out of Sodus at 530pm and began fishing at 6PM. Sat down in 180 and trolled north marking fish and bait. Hit 240fow and screen lit up. We were running a meat program with 2 dipsys and 2 riggers. All four rods fired at the same time. We managed to boat all 4!!! All 4 were 18-22lbs. Turned around and hit the same spot over and over. From 645-8:15 we had 20 bites in total. We dropped 14 fish after landing those four. It was frustrating! Ended up doubling at 8:10pm as I was filleting and had our limit. Riggers down 99 and 110 standard size dipsy’s on a 1 setting back 305 on each side. Sunday AM we only had until 730am motored out to 100 and sat down there. It was a little slower but we went 2/3 on a 24lb king and a 21lb king. All meat bite. The 24lb king came in 65 degree water as I was dropping back the dipsy down around 50 feet. The other king came on a rigger down 95. All meat spread again. Went home with around 95lbs of filets. not bad for under 5 hours of fishing. Most hits came on dragon slayer flasher with a stud attomik meat rig. Ended up running that on 2 of my 4 rods.
  7. That one did it thanks.

  11. Big Jon single planerboard mast 2 piece 6' mast Great shape $150 Located in Pulaski
  12. Started in 250fow and fished out past 600fow. Down temp bounced up and down all day. Had 50 water at times 95-125' of wire down. Caught fish all day as high up as 75' and down as low as 135' but no rhyme or reason to location; though most bites came after we had a mark on the screen. Mag Green Hulk gold back was best bait by far (to the point that both riggers had them the last 2 hrs). Dipsies didn't start hitting until after 10:30 and our batting average on keeping them buttoned was .300 at best. Mag deeper diver @ 225' and 275'; 1.5 settings; SD's bullfrog & dragon slayer w/ crinkle green flies. Couple long copper (300 & 450) rips...the fishing group was happy with the box of teeners and all was well. Mag Green Hulk (gold back) Green Knight Rasp Carbon Dragon Slayer SD 8" Glowfrog SD 8"
  13. That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing.
  14. Yesterday
  15. Went out with my son yesterday evening to do one final troll to make sure everything was working as it should before we put the boat up for sale. Went to pull out the fish hawk and found that the cap was cracked 🤦🏼‍♂️. No trolling last night. Brought the jigging rods incase I came across a good king screen. So just decided to drift and fish to marks. Fished about two hours before the NE started to get unpleasant. Hooked 3 kings and missed a hit. Only brought one into the boat. My son loved fighting them though! Looks like the jig bite is still alive and well out there.
  16. little to far from me,,,, i am in punxy, pa
  17. 10000 is what I had in mind,I have a surveyor. Thanks.
  18. I have owned an 1985 21’ trophy “pilot house “ style, not the walk around style for 5 years now and it’s one of the best fishing/trolling rigs I’ve owned.very solid well built fishing platform.can seat 4 people under the hardtop, fish box built into the floor and filet table, tackle storage under the hard top.plenty of room in the cabin for rod storage, can sleep 3 people and has room built in for porta potti.self draining floor.one of the driest boats Ive ever owned.I have pounded this boat on Ontario,Champlain and the Hudson.very stable boat and tows great. I also recommend like was stated above of having a surveyor look it over, I can recommend one if needed and I also feel 14k is way too much money, I wouldn’t pay penny over 10k
  19. Two 12” Big Jon aluminum downigger stands-solid aluminum….Top plate fits Cannon bases or swivel mount…..used on 2 one week trips!! like new!! $140 shipped to USA (camo foam is to protect rigger ball)
  20. Nice! Thanks for the report. Heading up in about 2 weeks
  21. We were out between Hughes and Sodus Point on Friday and found the same scenario of 115 ft down over various depths. Caught a nice steelie about 8-10 and an Atlantic (pictured) about 10ish and a few small kings. Stayed rough the whole time. Wind NW then changed to N about noon.
  22. SHERMAN BROWN you I also would love to fish with I also just stated fishing Erie for walleye as it is one favorite fish to eat should get together sometime
  23. Yes sir, last time this will ever happen to me. What an absolute scumbag to screw someone over this bad. I would have at least given the money back for the repair. What a lying piece of ****! Would love to post a big thing about him but it would get removed. The guy runs a charter out of Ontario NY. Would love to help him lose business!
  24. Lake conditions pretty snotty intended to fish 500’ but shut down in about 150-200’ found fish and bait wound up 3-6 fished 90’-105’ down caught on flasher fly and mag spoons Lake conditions called for 1’ or less again not even close over the years I have found that you never know what your going to find until you clear the break walls
  25. throw a slider into the water before attaching to the main line.
