    There are a lot of freshwater Pursuits on the Great Lakes. You need to be searching Lake Erie and Michigan boats for sale thru brokers or private sellers. Can also be found in upstate NY also in Alexander Bay Area. IMO, as stated above you need to be a very competent troubleshooter when dealing with an older saltwater boat.

    Brian Weidel from the USGS gave a very good presentation and is an excellent, knowledgeable speaker. Lots of graphs showing past trawl results and variety of baitfish. This years numbers should be interesting. Not so sure that the die off we’re seeing is that common. Haven’t seen anything like this in recent memory

    I take back the raccoon statement. Got a little carried away there talking about the nest oiling. Bottom line is something needs to be done about those damn birds. The USFWS needs to expand the permits to put a dent in the NE population.

    I was told the oiling of the eggs worked great on ground nests like Gallou and Stoney Islands years ago because the birds killed all the trees and they had no choice where to nest. Given the opportunity to nest high in trees like we’ve seen in Irondequoit Bay and other islands, the birds will nest there, which makes oiling and raccoon predation impossible. A fire fighting boat with a high pressure water cannon would be my choice of weapon.

    It’s true most marinas require you to have insurance in their contracts, but very few make you prove it with paperwork. Marinas are not liable. We just started this year making dock renters show proof of coverage. Sorry to hear about your damage. Hope you’re back out fishing soon.

    I found replacements for my Rule wash down and live well pumps on Amazon.

    I somehow got on a e-mail list from canals.ny.gov and the press release said guard gates at Holley, Spencerport and Brockport were raised recently to lower canal water levels so repairs can be made for leakage somewhere west of Brockport.

    There were a half dozen trailers in the parking lot on our way in yesterday at noon. Not officially open yet though

    Yes, those are the clipper releases. Orange and green. You really can’t go wrong with Scotty releases for copper. They have 2 settings and when set on the heavy position the braid holds long coppers no problem.

    39 deg? Hmm. I would say that’s the exception rather than the rule. Plenty of bait around the I-Bay outlet. There is something going on with the juvenile browns. We noticed a downturn last year. Could the cormorants have put a hurting on a whole year class of browns from 2019-2020? Big flocks of them in I-Bay already this year herding schools of you name it

    What is the temp at that intake this time of year? Probably too cold for browns I would guess

    I found an old Boat US magazine article about boat sealants and adhesives. The best sealant in your case would be BoatLife, a polysulfide, or 3M 4000 UV, a polyether. 3M 4200 and 5200 are polyurethane construction adhesives and not chemical resistant.

    Tony, I have had good luck using BoatLife Life Caulk. Comes in clear and white. The stuff is bulletproof above and below the waterline. Good luck

    There used to be a Pursuit dealer in Port Clinton OH. Should be some used ones around on Lake Erie. My Pursuit 255 Offshore with a single 250 fishes very nicely on Ontario
