  1. Today
  2. I don’t know why I take pleasure in getting plug fish but I got a couple more this morning
  3. You will see the difference in rough seas. Bigger prop has more bite and resists being pulled up out of the water - at same RPM a larger spinning prop will have greater overall stability.
  4. The last two days, we have had ice water inside. Saturday, 180-225, Yesterday 225-250, today 275-325.
  5. I left fish to find the derby winner offshore today. Trollled all the way out to 350’ and back. It was a futile attempt that didn’t bear fruit but I couldn’t believe how green the water was out there already. The water looks like it does in August.
  6. Got a Jake (that I had passed on) to come for my sister in law yesterday. Today I was rewarded with a 9 3/4 “, 7-8” spur Tom. had him on trail cam. J
  7. Good king out of Sandy this morning. Another insane king bite offshore!
  8. Looks like some quality Surf & Turf meals at your house! Enjoyed the pics. Nice looking Gator along side those Browns
  9. Thanks all! Trolling motor is on it's own 24v system and Garmin is on it's own 12v system so didn't think they would really interfere with each other. Only got the one transducer on the back that goes to the Garmin and the transducer on the trolling motor isn't plugged into anything right now. Actually went out on Oneida last night and while running the trolling motor I didn't have any interference that I could notice. However, I was only in 15 FOW so think that's the bigger reason i didn't notice anything. We'll see what happens when I go out again in a deeper body of water.
  10. A friend of mine is selling his 31’ Baha Cruiser sport fisherman with twin 351s with less then 300 hours on both engines and transmissions since rebuilt. Comes with all of the takel and gear. 3 Scottie riggers, 12-14 brown trout rods, 10-12 salmon rods, 1,800-2,000 spoons, extra Convector reels, 3 dipsy rods and tons of miscellaneous stuff. Everything needed for turn key charter. Slip in Fairhaven is paid for for the year. New batteries in 2023, carbs just got rebuilt and installed with 0 hours. $35,000 call or text (207)266-3040 for more information. Boat is located in Fairhaven
  11. I don't know what channels to monitor on LO. On Erie, most guys use I think 79 on the west end and 68 on the central basin and east. but I check both of them and use 68 most of the time. back when I salmon fished Lake Michigan I used 68 there. another thing I like doing is putting my radio on scan then if guys switch channels to share info with a friend and not broadcast all over the place.
  12. Was able to get my sister in law a Jake first thing yesterday morning. Then heady to Stony Creek to try the browns. Was able to get my wife and her their limit but it made for a full day. Fortunately everyone but me slept in this morning and I was rewarded with a nice Tom. Very successful 2 days.
  13. Solid work! Congratulations we had a tuff bite for opening weekend.
  14. After reading this post and speaking to some locals the information that I was able to come up with are its an old log barge. The wreck is known to some people and in conversation they knew it's exact location. Back in the 1800 many Salt and log barges went down in Cayuga. Many of them were not documented because of the time period. When growing up on the lake there was a gentleman I knew that actually used to operate the ferry between kidder landing and Frontenac. I only wish he was still alive so I could pick his brain. He was an old salt.
  15. The Suzuki 9.9 models BTHL or BTHLW (white) have a high thrust 4 blade prop standard- Suzuki’s “pro-kicker’ spec model. I have one on my Proline and it works well. Previously I had a Yamaha 9.9 that ran for years with a 3 blade and that did the job too. In most situations it would be hard to see a big difference IMO.
