Didn’t get out this morning. Rainy and had chores to do. Mid day asked my wife if she wanted to go but she didn’t. Texted a few buddies and they couldn’t go either. Oh well.
Wife changed her mind but had plans at 4 which gave us an hour or so to fish. We’ve been chasing nothing but browns for weeks and that was our plan. As we got to the lake it was blowing hard and capped up. We got on plane and I was about to turn around but decided to run west to the nose and troll back downhill. Set up in 60 and half an hour later no hits. Decided to slide out to 70 and drop the lures down.
Was about to clear and the deep rigger at 60 pulling a Dreamweaver standard Two Face Glow from Rt 18 Tackle got crushed. Fish fought hard and stayed deep allowing us to clear the other rigger and two divers.
Wasn’t  sure what it weighed because the boat was bouncing a lot but knew it was over 26 so made the trip to Captains Cove. Fish weighed 28lbs 7 ounces.

You must have enjoyed bringing that one in. Can we presume that your wife is also in the LOC? That one should at least be the biggest fish of the day , if not the week. Let's hope that Sandy has produced the LOC summer biggest fish.

If it goes on like this the August LOC will produce a ton of fish over 30 pounds.

That's great, Bill!  Went out of Sandy this morning after the thunderstorms cleared, jigging Lakers. We found fish, but the dang things wouldn't even look at our lures!  Usually they bite good in July.

That’s been the case for me also recently. I swear I’m bouncing lures off their heads.
Didn’t mark the one we caught today.
