Saw three different bucks before this guy came in. Got a shot off at 35 yards and it was about five inches back 😡. He took a few more steps and stopped giving me time to rack anothe arrow. Was shaking a little but the second shot was perfect and he took two more steps and dropped.
Certainly no monster but big body and a lot of fun.
Good luck everyone.

Scrub bucks everywhere the last 2-3 days and the shooters are vanished. I’m sure all the big boys are on that first good doe hard. Only thing I’m seeing is dinks and yearling does. Hope to catch a good one cruising on the morning sit here.

Well I'm back in the action. First ever sit in the state of Pennsylvania! No action yet for me. My kid however had a little action with two young bucks brawling.

Good luck Rob. This morning has not met expectations yet. Started off with a flock of gobblers roosting all around me. How they didn’t take off when I came in to stand in the dark is beyond me but they stayed. As light came they made such a racket gobbling and yelping every 20 seconds that I had to stand up and flap my arms while making alarm putts to get them to leave. I must have looked like an ahole. One yearling so far. Not sure where the deer are but the blue jays tell me they are across the creek.

No doubt the most mature buck midday activity all year has been today. Cameras were very quiet right after sunrise but have been on fire since about 930.

Way too nice of an afternoon to not be in the woods. If a doe gives me a clean shot I’ll take it but that hasn’t happened yet this season. Should a buck come through I’ll shoot it with my camera. Wind, like every day lately is swirling a little. Good luck to all.

I got blood !  Had a doe being harrased by a 4pt at 7:30am she gave me a perfect 10yd shot and I knew she wouldn't go far ,  she dropped in sight  up wind ,  the 4pt hung around her followed by another scrub , then about 9am this dude came in hobbling on a dead front leg and gave me a 10yd shot.

** Follow up on the injurie, huge bone mass on his shoulder but no puss look like an old break car hit possibly.  Explains the goofy rack on the opposite side

I got to watch some deer p0rn live this morning. I had an eight point, at the ears with a chocolate rack, do hot laps around the tree before taking it to the house THREE TIMES. The doe would lead him around in circles in the brush behind me, then she'd squat to pee and lift her leg like a male dog apparently peeing on herself as well (I guess this is a thing during the rut?). A couple minutes later, she'd let him catch her. A small button was obviously a voyeur and chilled eating acorns 40 yards away.

I've seen them mount up before, but never this kind of show. Almost felt like I was in Canada...

Thankfully humans are not like ruminants so urinating on our face to attract a mate is not a thing.  Keith, I'm hoping you took a cold shower to settle down when you got out of the woods.  🙂

Two showers.

We got a clip last night of a nice buck, and I didn't think much of it with the sound turned off. Then I start getting texts from my buddies that I need to listen to it. I about fell over when the buck suddenly grunted so loud it sounded like a donkey braying!

Deer make some strange sounds. A couple years ago, one of my neighbors got himself all worked up because he thought guys on my property were harassing his son in the stand, making catcalls and whatnot. Obviously ridiculous, particularly if you know the guys I hunt with, and they weren't hunting anywhere near the kid regardless. As it turned out, there was a breeding nucleus on the property that day, with bucks and doe running wild. The first time I saw one, I thought that a bunch of spring breakers had invaded the woods. My guys had a heck of a morning just watching the madness unfold. The kid likely had no idea what was going on and got down from him stand, missing out on a prime opportunity to see one of the more rare and spectacular events you're likely to encounter in the woods. Yep, deer make some strange sounds.
