I would like to tie my own triple fly rigs.

i have store bought set up

what or how do you space the flies on the leader it looks like a ball of melted mono is used to stop the flies from slipping down the leader

any help will be appreciated

Are you referring to "Twinkie"rigs ???  If so, an easy fix is to put a bead before the fly and keep it fixed by jamming a toothpick against the leader and breaking it off.

Yeah that is what people call a twinkie rig. Beads and toothpicks or I've seen some where they just a crimp.

I use 50 lb test Big Game on my twinkies and I tie a couple half hitch knots where I wish the spacing to be and I have never had one break or anything yet because the breaking strength of the line is well above what is needed. I wouldn't do it with smaller diameter mono or fluoro though as fluoro is too brittle without any stretch at the knot. Crimps can be used but you have to be very careful in the crimping of them not to put undue pressure on the mono or fluoro that will degrade its strength.

Toothpick s are the way to go. Crimps are to easy to make weak spots in leaders

The best I've seen is on the Musselhead rigs which is a small peice of tubing inside a crimp sleeve placed over the line and crimped. You can easily adjust your twinkie flies, but they stay where you put them.

I run the leader through a bead twice.  No crimps, toothpicks.....Still fairly easy to adjust distance between beads/teasers.  I have yet to have a break off due to a weak point where the beads are.  Like Sk8man, I use 50lb flouro.

You could also probably use very small shirt buttons and thread the leader through two holes therefore possibly making it "adjustable" as well as holding the items in place.
