Thanks all! Trolling motor is on it's own 24v system and Garmin is on it's own 12v system so didn't think they would really interfere with each other. Only got the one transducer on the back that goes to the Garmin and the transducer on the trolling motor isn't plugged into anything right now. Actually went out on Oneida last night and while running the trolling motor I didn't have any interference that I could notice. However, I was only in 15 FOW so think that's the bigger reason i didn't notice anything. We'll see what happens when I go out again in a deeper body of water.

A friend of mine is selling his 31’ Baha Cruiser sport fisherman with twin 351s with less then 300 hours on both engines and transmissions since rebuilt. Comes with all of the takel and gear. 3 Scottie riggers, 12-14 brown trout rods, 10-12 salmon rods, 1,800-2,000 spoons, extra Convector reels, 3 dipsy rods and tons of miscellaneous stuff. Everything needed for turn key charter. Slip in Fairhaven is paid for for the year. New batteries in 2023, carbs just got rebuilt and installed with 0 hours. $35,000 call or text (207)266-3040 for more information. Boat is located in Fairhaven

I don't know what channels to monitor on LO. On Erie, most guys use I think 79 on the west end and 68 on the central basin and east. but I check both of them and use 68 most of the time. back when I salmon fished Lake Michigan I used 68 there. another thing I like doing is putting my radio on scan then if guys switch channels to share info with a friend and not broadcast all over the place.

After reading this post and speaking to some locals the information that I was able to come up with are its an old log barge. The wreck is known to some people and in conversation they knew it's exact location. Back in the 1800 many Salt and log barges went down in Cayuga. Many of them were not documented because of the time period. When growing up on the lake there was a gentleman I knew that actually used to operate the ferry between kidder landing and Frontenac. I only wish he was still alive so I could pick his brain. He was an old salt.

Kicker motor prop
mr 580 replied to cnyh2ofowler's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
The Suzuki 9.9 models BTHL or BTHLW (white) have a high thrust 4 blade prop standard- Suzuki’s “pro-kicker’ spec model. I have one on my Proline and it works well. Previously I had a Yamaha 9.9 that ran for years with a 3 blade and that did the job too. In most situations it would be hard to see a big difference IMO. -

any time you're on big water I think it's foolish to not have a VHF radio just in case something breaks down and you need a tow or god forbid but if someone gets sick or has a bad injury you need to be able to contact the Coast Guard so they can have an ambulance waiting for you to get back to shore. I went the extra mile when I upgraded my 20-year-old radio. I bought one with the GPS already on it then registered it through BOATUS. now if I am sinking or have other problems I just push the big red button and they know everything about me and my boat.

A VHF is never a bad idea. I have one that came with a new to-me boat that I would be willing to donate to you. Just pay for the shipping. If you are interested drop me a message and we can figure it out.

Just for safety purposes alone I would say to replace it, you can get a decent one for $100-$150. I still hear alot of people talking on mine when I'm out on the lake, I have a mounted VHF and a floating handheld VHF just in case. If your cell phone gets wet before you can make a call for help, a VHF might just save your life someday.
